Gold Crown Farming

I've run out of things to do and decided to get it over with and farm gold crowns. I've got like, 4 left I think, Paolumu, Rathian and Radobaan (Notice they're all threat 1) all stuff I dislike hunting because they're essentially pointless.

Anyways here are my questions:
1. For the musical quests (Coral Waltz, Wildspire Bolero, etc) does the gold crown count if you only capture the one monster you need or dyou have to actually finish?
2. Does the Gold Silver Bronze quest method actually work? I can't seem to get it to.
3. Can you get gold crowns from non-musical quests (mentioned above) like say from regular event quests that have better rewards than the aforementioned 4 monster hunts?

As one of the .6% who has 100% achievements I have to say the crowns were the most time consuming and tedious.

To answer your questions:

1. As long as you capture or kill the monster it counts. You can rush the monster you need, kill/cap it and return from quest. It will count. I did this for the most part. Best time is to do it during a festival as ALL quests are available to you even others that guarantee a crown

2. It seems to have a lot of credibility behind it, there is a conglomerate of Google dox tables if you have not found it yet and countless players confirming their experiences. It is a bit tedious as you have to farm for just the right investigations, and it isn't a 100% guarantee but it does increase the chance. I would just suggest using this for elder dragons, the Musical quests and some of the event quests are far more reliable for regular monsters.

3.There are only a few event quests that have a 100% guaranteed chance of a crown. The USJS quests gives you a Great Jagras bronze and gold, the second USJS gives you a gold dodogama and bronze Azure Rathalos. I suggest you look up the list of event quests, use they'll point out if there is a 100% crown in them.

Crown-Hunting is pure RNG. If you care to find a solution on the web....They probably tell you to play tons of INVESTIGATION. Try and do investigation with Gold+Silver Rewards with less FAINT condition--(basically below 3 FAINTs with Gold+Silver Rewards). If things don't work out just keep hunting those..as I mentioned before its pure RNG

i've joined you on this dumb quest to get the crowns. Suggestion, use the Smart Hunter mod. It is a dps mod, but it will tell you right away if monsters are a crown or not. I spent almost all day making/join/leaving quest waiting to see the crown. :)

it takes about 10 sec to host a quest, start and leave. :)

1 yes. kill the monster you are interested in an then retire from quest (retire, not abandon). in order to make spawn the monster you are looking for you might have to kill one thats already in the map when you start.

2 so it seems. i got the small and big black diablos and some elder dragons in those. of course if you catch an investigation with 2 gold its still worth to try with it.

3 some event quest have a guarateed gold crown. no clue about those with better reward (or with bonus hr).

if you already have all the elders and black diablos you are at good point as those are the hardest to get. it might be better to wait for the great hunts event quests to come back again and dont waste time on investigations, its just easier that way.

Yes you can capture the monsters. Yes you can get the crowns in any quest ( as far as I know ) however they seem to happen more often in high reward quests such as the purples. The musical quests there is a much higher chance than normal.
You have done really well to get most of them, It took me a week solid to get the large Kirin Crown! Some are definitely harder to find than others. The Pink Rathian, well I had to kill 169 of those. Course you don't have to kill them, you can capture them and you can also measure them, take a look on youtube.
