Edit: also check your internet connection as well, using alt+tab to switch between game and pc desktop also can trigger this prob
now we get monsters that derp run into a wall for 30 seconds while someones internet connection tries to sync up and failing over and over again resulting in a DC anyway and the monster rubberbanding back to where it was and doing something different.
Every time I see it disconnect I can clearly see my network is fine, on the 4 other devices I have sitting next to me as well as on another moniter.
The game has some sort of weird issue, it may be that it has a latency or loss cap in it and it just decides you are offline, when you aren't, and that's what causes the DC in-game.
(Sadly we can't look at lobbies and people to play with via region or even latency, like a normal game, and choose the lobby that is best for us.)
Its a common issue that hasn't really ever been resolved, and many people have posted about it here, on reddit, and at capcom.
What they should have done, when they patched it months ago, was also add a ping limit counter that we could chose. However even playing with friends I have played with for 10 plus years in other games that are also peer to peer, MHW still will randomly drop one of us.
One can only hope that now that MHW is thier best selling title, that they might actually look into finally resolving it. I doubt it however.
Don't even Shift + Tab.
After the patches, I found this was the culprit.
I just use a 3rd party voice chat, like Discord, to talk with friends while playing.
I haven't disconnected once in the past 3 months - and I have an Indonesian internet connection.
Food for thought.
Ah, that's normal. Try looking for server names with people that may be from your region.
It's a latency thing.
If you're from Brazil trying to connect to someone from Japan, you're going to have a bad time.
Alternatively, just host your own and let people join you.
