I rather like this one for running around and stomping tempered monsters and below.

Anyone have a build they want to share for Ancient Leshen?

or more commonly known as skills for your R7 Claw
its a question about if you want to go Raw or elemental and since the difference between both arent that much, Claw wins becouse its less hero stones you need to farm.
I like my own personal set.
It's got a good group of skills and I rarely suffer being carted unless I'm extremely unlucky.
I leveled through the game with lance. The shield allowed me to learn the various critters moves and the more I did the more aggressively I could fight. Didn’t even know how to Power Guard until after I beat Xeno. I overall found lance mobility in this gen better than it has been in any other game, but once AT began and I was swiftly learning how ineffective my setup was against AT Kirin I had to change my tactics.
Always wanted to learn the Gunlance well, but until I fought AT Kirin I didn’t really see the need to. Glad I did though, cause I enjoy Gunlance much more than I did lance. With the right skills it’s damn brutal. Luckily, Kulve had given me a Wide 4 Gunlance to play with against AT Kirin. Later received the level 6 Wide 4, tossed on 3 Health Augments and only bother picking up the lance when I’m after Kulve or Greatest Jagras.
Why Blast over Para or Elemental? 2 Blast procs are 240 damage which is like 3 pokes, you could probably do way more damage with Crit Element Lances?
Also why no Handicraft on a Master's Touch build?
Guard 3 is minimum for Lance if you don't want to be pushed around too much.
I never feel stress when I am playing the weapon (other than in MP when I want to scream at every DB and LS user that pops in). Is it my favorite weapon? No. Is it my main? Again, no. But I will always enjoy playing it when I want to just poke a monster near hassle free.
Blast makes the monster flinch which not only makes an opening for you but can also help an ally in trouble. It is a very universal damage type for when you have no idea what you will be fighting. Notice I said it was basically being used for mickey mouse content.
Besides... that lance is an upgrade to the Styx lance which I absolutely adored once I played with it for a while. But notice not many Kjar lances have 15% affinity which will neatly get you to 50% affinity with max weakness exploit.
Why no Handicraft? It has 100% affinity. I went running around in the ancient forest the other day (hoping it would turn to night and a Great Jagras would spawn) and killed 5 or 6 monsters without needing to sharpen.
Have you considered a 2 piece lunastra build? I love being able to use that bonus because it gives extra stamina which in my case goes directly to being able to block more. It pairs very well with a 3 piece Teo set.
People often make a mistake and think that power guard is better. That is wrong. Power guard gives way more chip than normal guard.
Did you know that forward +Y bumps up your guard value?
I can see why people say that but it really isn't true. See the math guys video someone just posted and notice they say guard 3 for Teo (to make it comfortable). I have done that fight with guard 0 but I much prefer guard 1 to make it easier.
I prefer to bring guard up so I can be lazy and block the super nova instead of needing to dive around like everyone else.
