So, something about sharpening...

So, this is REALLY weird...
While on a hunt (with 4 others) , I noticed that my sharpening was really fast, like it's usually 4 cycles when you're normally sharpening.
But I've noticed that it only took me 2 cycles to completely sharpen the weapon!
This lasted the entire hunt.
Next hunt, with some other players, I've again noticed that my sharpening was faster, but now it was 3 cycles instead of four! It's like I have the speed sharpening skill! (I don't)

Is this supposed to happen?

Did you eat at the canteen? Meals can grant you passive skills that last either until you cart or the hunt ends.
