Don't know if it's actually useful for DB
If you get a Kjarr DB maxed out, it will be better than the Safi DB in all aspect.
You can also skip the Velkana/Silver Rathalos set bonus since they come with Critical Element in-built.
You could go for the 2-piece Raging Brachy set bonus (Agitator Secret) or the 3-piece Teostra set bonus (Master Touch) while still having the 2-piece Gold Rathian set bonus (Divine Blessing Secret) OR you could go for the 3-piece or 5-piece Safi Jiiva set bonus (Dragonvein Awakening / True Dragonvein Awakening).
either go 4 silver rath or 3 safi + 2 velk
if you using Kjarr DB go 5 pieces of safi
Blast DB (and para if you ever gonna use that) i would go 5 safi or 3 safi + 2 raging brachy
or at least give more deco slots to the boots and add critical eye to more of its pieces, since MT is based on affinity.
You can easily farm unlimited Whetfish+ now, which always sharpen your weapon in one pass. MT is still the "best", but the gap between having Master's Touch or using a weapon with large white sharpness or protective polish is a lot smaller than it used to be.
It's really restrictive to run MT and if you don't like it you don't have to use it.
I love the MT from teostra gamma but the teostra MR sucks big time I like to use MT to maintain the little purple sharpness I have on the safi weapon.
Also using the whetfish+ to sharpen is a very good idea however for such little purple sharpness I would have to sharpen after every 4 blade dances
You could also consider using the Razorsharp Charm or running Protective Polish.
Also, the difference between white and purple sharpness is 7% raw and 12.5% elemental damage so if the purple sharpness is hard to maintain, it might be better to just focus on having a long white sharpness instead, which the Safi weapons can have up to 120 hits and the Kjarr with 70 hits.
Master's Touch is great on paper but in reality, for most people, you are not always going to hit tenderised weak spots or even just weak spots 100% of the time and if in practice, it does turn out the purple sharpness is not really maintained, you might be better off going for something else instead of Master's Touch because having 3 pieces or the armor stucked with fixed choice is extremely limiting and frankly, using a slot on a Safi weapon just to have the Teostra Technique isn't exactly ideal if you are focusing on damage.
If you have a Protective Polish gem it lasts a lot longer. FYI Item Prolonger increases the duration of Protective Polish. Also as the person above mentions, white to purple is the smallest damage increase from sharpness in the game. Blue to white is the biggest. It's not that bad to be in white sharpness.
