Roadmap and future updates

With the delay of alatreon being from May to July, there has obviously been a lot of push back for any content post-alatreon release.

Do you think the roadmap as a whole as been pushed back? iirc, Capcom stated they were going to support Iceborne for a year with new content, until the end of 2020 (I could be wrong on this, but this is not the point).

Capcom would likely extend the time period in which we were to receive updates, right? As to not scrap any planned content simply because of the pandemic.

Didn't the roadmap specify that the would be more monsters and content post-june/post-july now?

imo they probably skip a few and offer the end of roadmap like they planned. The roadmap maybe extended a few months, but the content should be less than what they planned.

example,,

ala, frozen barioth, lucent narga, x monster, x monster, x monster, end(maybe fatalis).

become,

ala, frozen, lucent narga, x monster, end monster.

that only example, i use narga for example. maybe

edit: well for AT, new elder should be got AT Version. Instead new monster they can fill it with MR behe or even that AT's as content.

just like they cancel lagiacrus and oroshi kirin

No one knows for sure, my guess is that they'll just extend the roadmap out into 2021 to compensate. I don't see them cutting anything from the roadmap since MHW likely still rakes in a decent profit for Capcom.

No one knows for sure, my guess is that they'll just extend the roadmap out into 2021 to compensate. I don't see them cutting anything from the roadmap since MHW likely still rakes in a decent profit for Capcom.

I'm just looking for theories and ideas, but I think this will be the case as well.

The roadmap doesn't specify the amount of updates coming after Alatreon nor their size.

My guess is everything will just be pushed back. It's not like everything is just gonna get thrown out the window, it's been delayed. So whatever their plan was before, is still going to happen, just later. So Alatreon, Frozen Bari, and then a handful of ATs, safi, blackveil, ruiner, shara, velkhana, etc. Anything beyond that is simply what we dont know.

There are at least 4 arch tempered elders to be released, velkhana, ruiner nergi, Shara, and safi. Kulve probably won’t have AT version. Also, if you look at the item code, for some monsters that don’t have a tempered version (great jagras, kulu-ya-ku, great girros, tzitzi-ya-ku), their tempered GL material is coded but left blank so I suspect that they will have a tempered version in GL.

Anyway, we will get what capcom has prepared for us, no matter if it’s delayed or not.

tbf decos exist in the game files for every skill out there, but without proper icons and names. Might just be placeholders.

They probably have an outline on what updates they want for the game and will most likely finish with the last planned update even if it goes past the normal "end of 2020 date"

Logically speaking, all future updates will probably be pushed back because of the COVID/Alatreon delay. That's not necessarily a bad thing though; it will give Capcom the excuse to say that they supported the game longer than they actually did lol (into 2021).

most games get support till about the 18th month mark of thier release (in icebornes case this is starting from september 2019 as pc release was delayed) so the original plan was probaly to end support/last free update around feb 2021. add the delay and it should end around april 2021 instead. i wouldnt expect much anymore past the 3 year anniversary in janaury 2021 in generel. maybe 1-2 more update AT MOST.

but definitly expect more till end of this year unless there is another lockdown. and by more i dont mean easy to add AT event elders. these are a joke to add and dont really add much playtime overall to begin with. they are a bonus. nothing else. (aside at safi. thats gonna be a big one and probaly the final big powercreep for endgame)
