The thing about the charge blade is not that it's OVERLY difficult, but that it has a high skill ceiling instead.
CB is a weapon that will reward those who take the time to learn the weapon, movement frame values and monster patterns. It's a weapon that feels EXTREMELY satisfactory to play once you really master it, and trust me, it's not easy to learn to time the i-frames on the switching-to-axe move against EVERY monster in the game in EVERY instance of a fight. But if you manage to do that, you'll really feel what people mean when they say it's the hardest or most complex weapon of them all.
If you ask any ACTUAL veteran player, someone that has well over 2k hours in MH games, not a random guy that has only ever played World for 50 hours, they'll all (or most of them) say the same: CB is a difficult and complex weapon.
Still fail to make the connection tho. To add something on topic. Pretty sure no weapon class can be mastered in a few hunts. Unless we go by some arbitrary "mastering" definition of yours.
I agree, 5 hunts to master a weapon is a tad low.
Unless its bow, dual blades, or bow guns we are talking about.
I think by 5 hunts you would be proficient enough not to fail quests tho.
Probably why its tied for last place in popularity.
It does have the choo choo move, power guard and counter clawing. I haven't touched it in awhile, having too much fun on gunlance and hammer.

LOL
lance is easy to use, but lance has different guards that most suited to many situation. i didn't know the power guard is weaker compared to the regular counter guard until i played many hours with lance. it's also has a bad matchup with fast moving monster like odogaron if you didn't really master the positioning move of the lance. i'm not a lance main.
