Just got Iceborne, What's the Bow meta build?
Hello, I just recently picked up Iceborne, I played the base game a lot and play as an elemental bow user. I was thinking this as my build

Weapon
Elemental Bow- Depending on Monster weakness.

Armor Decorations
Rimeguard Helm β + Physique Jewel 2
Elemental Jewel

Rimeguard Mail β + Vitality Jewel 1
Any Elemental Jewel

Kaiser Vambraces α + Tenderizer Jewel 2

Tentacle Coil α + Vitality Jewel 1
Vitality Jewel 1
Any Elemental Jewel

Tentacle Greaves β + Mighty Bow Jewel 2
Any Elemental Jewel

Elemental Charm

Anyway to improve upon this or any suggestions or tips?

Thanks <3

Get critical element instead of the nami set bonus. It's substantially better.
For bow your best options are to use 5 pieces of Safi's armor, or 3 pieces of Safi's armor and 2 pieces of AT Namielle. Elemental is also the only way to go on bow, for which the Kulve Taroth weapons are the best.

what would you recommend personally, the 5 pieces of Safi or the 3 and 2 AT Namielle? And I'll try to grind out each Kulve Taroth Elemental bow, Thanks.
Honestly in my personal use one against the other wasn't a huge difference. The AT Namielle armor is pretty stingy on decoration slots but has like twice the skills armor normally does. The easiest way to put it is the Namielle is probably most worth it if you don't have the decorations to socket everything you want. The boots have 4 points of Physique, one of bows best skills, the helmet has all 3 points of Stamina surge which is also very good on bow. I also use the chest on monsters such as Zinogre where Evade Window is really useful and can easily increase your damage.

If you have the decorations to socket whatever you like Safi is probably better, but not by a ton.

Thanks for the input! I'll probably go with the Nami boots + helm until I get better decorations and the chest could prove useful for sure!
Not gonna have long to farm out kulve, but safi should be back once she goes. There’s only a few days left before the switch (assuming they carry on rotating them)

A lot of bad advice around here, probably from the same ppl who say clutch claw is optional. That shows how misinformed they are.

Safi bonus + CE (from Kjarr bows) is not stronger than TCE. It rounds up to be the same, wins by a bit or loses on some matchups supposing you use fully optimized sets.

If you don't have access to Silverlos yet, the mix Velk + Nami is fine until you get it, but after that, 4 pieces Silverlos. Until you get Safi/KT bows you can craft Kadachi, Legiana, Glav, Laguna shot.

Jewels and skills, on this specific order (most important to least): max element, spread 1, mighty bow, high affinity, cons 3 for comfort but can go to 1 if you use dash juice + black belt (and dont cart, and kill stuff before dash juice runs out), normal shots 1, surge 1 or 2 for comfort, crit boost 3.

When you get Safi bows: 4 pieces silverlos.

KT bows that are worth it: kjarr fire, kjarr ice, kjarr water. For kjarr bows you will need either 5 piece Safi (with resentment, because there's no point in using safi without it) or 3 pieces Safi + 2 pieces Raging Brach (for more raw oriented matchups). TCE sets still get close, immediately behind or a bit higher than these depending on the situation. Everything else is everything else.

Don't listen to bad advice.

Actually the water bow is terrible. Safi is completely worth using for elemental builds without resentment. The only thing you should regard from this post is to not listen to bad advice, which this post is completely full of. This person has absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

If I'm not wrong, he has Velkana's 2-piece bonus which is Crit Element with the Rime Guard pieces.

I think he's referencing Silver Rathalos' true Crit Element bonus

if you're just finish iceborne then you're set is fine

critical element from velkhana 2 piece is fine + namille is bonus

but if you're MR70+ i recommend farm Silver Rathalos 4 pieces is True Critical Element

also if you happen to have Kjarr Bow from HR Kulve i recommend do MR Kulve right now before he gone (rumors is safi would be back on 5th june) and upgrade them most of them is good

and when Safi'Jiiva is coming back farm his set and all his bow

Safi'Jiiva bow with Silver Rathalos True Critical Element is strongest when pair together

but Kjarr Bow with MR Kulve Upgrade will also be strong when using with 5 Pieces of Safi Armor

Safi bow has very high elemental output when you awakened all elemental up + element up augment but it has no critical element built in like Kjarr so True Critical Element from Silver rath will work best

for Kjarr Bow since it has built in Critical Element so you don't need TCE or CE and 5 pieces of Safi Armor True Dragonvein Awakened will added 150 flat elemental damage and 40% affinity

just by drawing weapon so with Kjarr bow has critical element built in it's really strong

and if you use 5 pieces of safi i recommend you craft and upgrade Fury Charm (Resentment)

since you're losing hp every shot until 8th shot hits during that you get bonus damage from Resentment skill and put on elemental deco on your set instead level 4 elemental gem should be easy to come by right ? if you can't afford then don't use Fury Charm keep using elemental charm like usual

Namille bonus doesn't really worth it, Namille Divinity required 7-8 hits for buff to proc and it only added 150 flat elemental damage and last for 45 sec while Safi true Dragonvein awakened

added 40% affinity 150 flat elemental damage by just drawing a weapon and it stays that way

there's 1 special case in case you don't know is blast bow

Safi Shatterbow is most popular pair with 5 pieces of safi or 3 pieces of safi + 2 raging brachy armor

Blast bow is only use on monster with bad elemental hit zone value and only to be use in solo scenario if you play in mp you still wanna go elemental

namely Kushala,Ruiner Nerg,Velkahana,Zinogre,Stygian Zinogre blast bow will make up with raw damage and blast will contribute to stagger them

Actually, I meant normal crit element, it has been a long day and I missread OP's set and thought he didn't have crit element at all.

It happens.
this will do till u get MR 70 and have silver rathalos set get 4 piece and 1 brachy boots

"Terrible" is definitely hyperbole. Safi water bow wins overall but the Kjarr bow performs better with close range coatings so if you don't have an awakened and fully upgraded Safi bow lying around the Kjarr bow is more than capable of filling the spot. Also, there isn't any misinformation with his post. 5 piece Safi, 3 piece Safi and 2 piece Raging Brachy, or Silver Rathalos is the armor meta. I've never heard of anyone subbing in AT Namielle armor like you've been suggesting elsewhere in the thread. Kjarr King is the best fire bow, Kjarr Stream is the best ice bow, and like I said before Kjarr Water is perfectly adequate. TCE from Silver Rathalos vs Resentment from Safi is pretty comparable in damage so really it's up to the player to see what decos they have and use whatever set they can make most efficient. I'm not sure why you're so offended by his post, but he isn't wrong.
