Low frame rate. Is it me or the game?
My frame rate is normally around 60 or just below with occasional brief dips into the 40s. Not horrible, and certainly not unplayable, but I've run other better looking games at max settings and higher frames, and it's annoying that a 1080 Ti cannot maintain a steady 60 FPS on this title.

My CPU is a core i5 4690k. I realize it's getting old, but I don't think that's the issue. I hear that the game performance got worse after Iceborne. I also have heard that even people with CPUs more powerful than mine are having performance problems as well. In fact, I saw a YouTube video of a guy running this game with a 1080 Ti in 2k max settings and a more powerful CPU than mine (some kind of i7), and his FPS were very similar to what I am getting.

the game runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage

i wish i could refund it, all im gonna say pc ports that are this incredibly cpu bound are absolutely ridiculous, im not an expert but its possible having a 4core 4thread cpu is putting your performance behind with a ♥♥♥♥ optimized port like this that is known to heavily eat up your cpu usage

That's incredibly obvious.

Any idea why the game runs poorly?

Overuse of multi-threading, mostly.

You can mitigate some of it with asteriskampersand's performance mod. It also fixes the input stutter caused by the original kulve taroth patch that capcom refuses to fix.

Yeah, been using that, hasnt increased my fps tho. https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/3473 link for the OP

The CPU performance should be insufficient?

9400F 1080P CPU utilization 90+%

Same issue, no idea, basically done trying

You're bottlenecked by your cpu. Try to overload your gpu. Use dx12, set the highest resolution possible. If you play at 1080p, consider using upscaling to offload your cpu.

This game runs really well with all things considered. It used to be trash, upon release on PC and I have only recently come back into playing and it is smooth as butter in comparison. I've locked my frames at 60 so my PC isn't trying to push higher and have it maxed out entirely and very very rarely see those frames drop and if they do, it's brief and usually when there are multiple hunting horn buffs on the ground. Those things are beefy.

I am running a 1080ti with a 6700k, Ultrawide 1440p and its absolutely smooth. You're either exaggerating or your hardware is to blame. It definitely runs better after Iceborne. I used to have to turn settings down to maintain the same fps and now I don't touch a thing.

Hey, Ryzen 1700 (5700XT) owner here. Just to let you know I do get occasional dips that just goes back to normal.

I'd normally lock the frame rate to 60 where it is usually the most stable. Running in and out of zoned areas tend to trigger the drop then it goes back to normal.

FYI running at 1440p without mods.

same issuie here, GTX 1650 ram is 16g 2400 i7-9750
the game was perfect till i got to the guiding lands, even when i lowered a lot of my settings and turned off many other stuff my fps goes from constant 60 to 30 sometimes especially in the forest

Ah ♥♥♥♥. Not looking forward to that. We have the same RAM. You have a more powerful CPU, but my GPU is more powerful I think.

I would say that 8 threads is the "minimum" in order to maintain 60fps most of the time. At least my i7-3770K @ 4.3GHz with a GTX 1070 can.
