Unlocking Impact Mantle

Do I understand this right? To unlock the impact mantle I have to run around on high rank expeditions and sniff blue tracks in the hopes to get T1 investigations. Then I have to complete 5 of those for 5 different T1 monsters to get the mantle quest.
Is there no other way?

I'll ask around but I doubt that there are people left that have high rank investigations so far into iceborn.

I already have Tobi and Anjanath and maybe Rathian (don't know how two targets in one investigation count).

i dont know if this one correct. but that 5 have to include radobaan and barroth.

for easy, just ask person that unlock the impact mantle quest to post this quest. temp baroth and radobaan.

You can join other people's investigations.

There always the A Simple Task event to farm T1 and T2 investigations

Not true, the quest that you need to complete to unlock it has you hunting those two, they are not required to be hunted in order to issue the quest, they are merely the targets of the quest.
