Bowguns are literal cancer.
I only kill 1 in 480 hours in game, her skills are too annoying -.-
capcom brought his hard arms but forgot to bring his good hitzones from past gen
He totally has small openings and whatnot but i feel super discouraged taking advantage of anything if i don't get a guaranteed headsnipe(furious specifically). Like "cool, here's an opening but since he has only 2 parts that will take good damage(1 for angry furious) i might as well wait for something better to come along." I am straight up only losing like 30 damage if I just save myself the effort and wait for a juicy zone, which is bad fight design.
And to make matters worse, due to his topple counter the player gets even less chances to capitalize on downs thanks to his very low tolerance rage meter. The only times you can really pull off hard hitters safely is from wallbangs(1) and traps(2) because at any given time a partbreak topple can just become a cart since the air was feeling a little solid to jang.
Furious is better and worse than regular MHW Jang because he gives more openings but also has less parts to hit, and his counter is worse. The worst part in total though is Furious Jang's fightzone. That specific Hoarfrost area he chooses to fight in brings out the absolute worst in the monster. The ice sheet area with water waves on heavy hits shows off how much random tremor he has because...he can. Why does his punch flurry have a tremor at the end? So people who have expert positioning can't use it as an opportunity to counterattack lol
The area with the breaking ice spikes and river gives him a lot of wall to topple cancel from which is so demoralizing, and the water gives iceblight if you stand in it too long so if you wallbang near any water...♥♥♥♥ you.
This became a rant but i'm just annoyed with some fights in this game. I can't call them "hard yet enjoyable" because MHW has so much random BS packed in in varying degrees. I could learn Rajang inside and out and would never feel good about beating him.
And while I'm at it, the two elder dragons that aren't "you vs monster" but "you vs aura", Kushala and Vaal Hazak. Vaal Hazak is easily worse because it gets to do damage to you from across the whole area without actually attacking. And once you get the blight taken care of with some decorations, the monster is piss easy and boring.
Namielle also kinda has this issue but I think is a better fight overall. if the player got more agency in aura control instead of it being super specific I would like the fight more. And AT namielle took more agency away from the player by being so sopping wet that you can play for element the entire fight
