Flinch Free / Spare Shot question
1. What is the difference in knockback, tripping and tremor?
Is Flinch Free 3 same as Tremor 3 in result?

2. Do Spare Shot from LBG Styx and Xeno set stack? SS has 30% chance of procing, do I get 60% if using both?

There are a few different types of reactions to damage. Flinch Free prevents or reduces certain reactions based on which rank you have equipped.

A basic knockback interrupts your attack, preventing all actions for a very short period of time, and leave you still standing on your feet. This is the reaction your character does when hit by teammates or most small monster attacks. FF rank 1 prevents this. Tremor Resist has no effect on this.

Tripping typically occurs when a weaker attack from a large monster causes your character to fall down on their butt. The stun is a little bit longer, but that's pretty much it. FF rank 3 prevents this. Tremor Resist has no effect on this.

Tremor is what happens when certain attacks, like stomps, jumps, and vertical tail slams, cause your character to stumble in place helplessly for several seconds. Minor ones cause a short stumble, while major tremors cause a long stumble. Flinch Free has no effect on these.

Spare Shot does not stack, You either have it or you don't. Also, if you have True Spare shot (Nargacuga Set Bonus) it will use that instead of Spare Shot.

Suzaku explained FF vs TR, but a little tidbit if you happen to use Insect Glaive:
Flinch Free 3 + Triple Buff (from gathering extracts with the kinsect) gives:
Tremor Resist 3
Windproof 3
Earplugs 3
The latter two can be topped off with 2 points in armour or decorations. Which will allow you to ignore pretty much all non-damaging CC effects a monster can throw at you, (except Kushala's Wind, obviously).

Ok, thank you guys.

One more question:
Is it worth it to have Blight Res 3? The element will still hit me, but the oozing blight effect on my chest (is this the one?) will not be caused, right? Are ppl using it as something vialbe?

I'd typically ignore blight resist unless the blight becomes a real problem, in which case the better idea would be to git gud. Being blighted so often means you're taking too many hits.

Otherwise, you'd be better off trying to reach 20 resistance so you become naturally immune to it, or just carry nulberries with you. In the case of Iceblight, the Crisis decoration (resuscitate skill) is a fine alternative.

Unless you're using Safi armour which comes with blight resist 2 anyway so it's only 1 level 2 slot to be immune or you could use Coalescence so that blights become a bonus.

It's rarely something you deliberately go out of your way to add in. Though It can definitely be a nice skill for comfort, especially if you're being put in a situation with a lot of different elemental blights (Multi-monster hunts, Guiding lands, and Namielle for instance).

However if you are using Safi or Namielle, or some other armour with some point(s) naturally on it. you have some options:
1. Top it off to become Immune since it's a lot less costly to do so now.
2. Add in Coalescence, which gives you a pretty substantial boost after recovering from any blight.

It's actually just 1 level 1.
It can also show up as a prefix on multi-skill level 4 decos, paired with:
Attack Boost, Critical Eye, Free Element/Ammo Up, Constitution, and Evade Window
