ok so kinda pop in and out on mhw from time to time so kinda miss out on information, running my safijiiva shattersplitter rn and pretty happy with it but then i saw someone with the same sword but a different color for the cool middle glow....does the element decide the glow and can you change it?

Element decides the color, yes. Can't really change it except to the one specific color (orange I think?) provided by the new layered weapon system.

Fire is red, thunder is light-greenish, water is blue, Ice is white, dragon is purple, poison is lighter purple.

Didn't try sleep and paralysis so dunno about their colors. :P Kinda shame you can't use layered system for that it seems. It only allowed me the standard orange one for my shattershield.

a layered safi weapon will take the color of the element of the weapon you try to layer it on (english isn't mymain language so this sentence probably dosen't make any sense)

for exemple, if you try to layer a safi skin on a rathalos weapon, the weapon will be colored like a safi fire weapon. (if it's dual element dual blades each blade will have a different color, if its a raw weapon it will be a bright red.)
