Any requirements to unlock layered weapon?

on PC, currently in story where adult xeno appeared for the first time and still didn't see where the layered weapon menu located, the augment section appear to be the same as base MHW, is something wrong with my game?

you can unlock it, when you get the materials for them (= e.g. the VIP tickets from the ongoing event)

Ah i seee, which event i should aim for? or all of them give the tickets?

Every eventquest as well as normal quest (even investigations) can net you a VIP ticket. You just need to have the 5 set bonus from the rose set to have a higher chance. Personally, i prefer farming the collection event quest (e.g. penguins/plants in ice area/rock fruits in desert area), as you can finish them fast.

The menu should be at the following:
Augment Equipment > Your weapon > Layered weapons (at the bottom of the page with all the augments)

You'll unlock a layered weapon when you have something from it's requirements.

For example, if you want to have Raging Brachydios' Switch axe on your Safi'jiva Switch axe (this was my situation) then you will need a material from Raging Brachydios, as well as a few other things that may or may not be from him.

The layered weapons are not limited to events.

Option for Layered Weapons appears if you try to augment a Rank 10/11/12 weapon.

It will be near bottom of the list of augments. I am not sure if you need anything more than just unlocking Guiding Lands and getting the materials, but it's possible you might need to finish the quests that were introduced before it, so up to Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios.

i don't actually know so correct me if I'm wrong, but I read somewhere that the layered weapons require grinding lance materials, so you might need to do that.

Looks like it unlocked after several Guiding Lands expeditions, thanks for the response, problem is solved :D
