Depends on the target.

Part Breaker works well until you break parts then those decos lower your overall dps as they do nothing.
Peak is great if you can keep your hp up for a large percentage of the fight, otherwise it's waste it but doesn't work against monster with dot.

Run peak only with health augment. PB, realisitically is only for Safi.

if the set of gear is meant to be used for farm, PB is useful as an all rounder. you'll break more parts, more rewards as a result. great for guidinglands and is especially handy for Safi and Kulve.

PP is built more for just doing max damage rewarding skilled plays. PP is only useful if you can stay at max health though, if you cannot, there are other skills to run that may benefit you better.

Part Breaker is good for Gold and Silver Rath since breaking their head will make it a weak point.

Black Veil's head, back, stomach, and forearms all become natural weak points (45 hit zone) and gain good dragon hit zones when broken.

It has uses for a few other monsters as well, but these are the monsters outside of safi and kulve where its good to bring.
I'd say Part breaker if you're the kinda person who takes damage often, and peak performance if you don't get hit often.

well on the flip side, if hes using a weapon he can block with, offensive guard 3 is a damage boost procced off getting hit. i use it on my high raw impact phial CB setups if i can.

Depends on what you need.

If you need lots of parts, are in guiding lands, want monsters like barioth to sit the heck down, fighting kulve taroth high and arch tempered, partbreaker helps.

if you want to capitalize on moments, get your staggers in early, or just want to push through everything with high raw damage, peak performance helps, it's a great way to get flat raw attack for nothing, and if you have a health regen skill, it is nice to have.

But in the early kulve days, having both was just incredible.

The same logic I apply to dauntless. Which has the same system in regards of part dmg just that mhw does not show numbers.

More dmg.. more part breaks and dmg.
More part break dmg is just that. So it's useless for everything but safi.

Even if you arent on full hp all the time. More dmg is always better than useless part breaks. Lets be real.. at some point you won't care about your average tail/claw/bone drop anymore. These 30% more part break dmg won't give you that much more.

But dmg gives you faster times. WHich results in more hunts/time. Which results in more mats.

It looks like the average "muuuh deeps" post but it's just simple logic.
