Elemental Long Sword?

Hey all, been playing with bow for a long time. I also want to experience melee gameplay as well because of that I want to choose a melee weapon. I was gonna play long sword but the problem is I really like the idea of using elemental builds instead of raw. I don't know i just like elemental stuff, so I'm here to ask if there is ''huge'' dps loss between Raw and Elemantal long swords? IF there is, should I just go charge blade instead? I heard CB uses elemental mainly.

CB guys using element mainly? Nah I only use ice, water and raw/blast. Others doesnt make sense for me.

Now with your question. Element LS isnt that bad it's just not very good compared to raw since helmsplitter does not have any element dmg multiplers. So it only uses your raw dmg.

In case you dont use that move at all or just dont care about a lil dmg loss doin that move. Go nuts with element. Otherwise. Don't bother.

helm breaker got a 0,3 elemntal modifier,meaning his elemntal damage is pretty bad. however, if you have more fun using elemntal builds, use them no matter the weapon. fun>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>meta.


EDIT: elemental longsword is very useful agaisnt ebony odogaron, since it knock him out of berzerker mode. rathalos longsword is genearlly use for that, high element, decent raw and sharpness, with a bonu s15% affinity.

Only skill that has low ele multp is helm breaker right? Other LS moves okay with ele multip?

Kjarr sword dragon is pretty strong if you want to try a dragon longsword.
480 dragon damage and crit element with 15% affinity and comparable raw damage before custom mods is nothing to sneeze at.

The numbers are just not impressive.
Especially on how "critical hit" works on element <- the elemental proportion of damage will not be boosted by the fact whether it was a critical attack or not UNLESS you have CRITICAL ELEMENT or TRUE CRITICAL ELEMENT.

The only element I used besides the default Blast on LongSword is Dragon. That's only because of DragonSeal. DragonSeal:
1. Break Black spikes on Nergi
2. Reduce Teostra / Lunastra charge level thereby reduce the number of Nova casting.
3. Reduce Nami's water storage thereby decrease the likelyhood Nami will use her Ult.

Could you tell me where did you find this info? im doing a research about longsword elemental viability agains alatreon, and i want to know all the elemental modifiers and MV. I would apriciate the help
