I'm sort of waiting for HoneyHunter to get updated or something before I dedicate stuff. I was mostly excited for the elemental glaives so I could use my favorite designs on Safi stuff, but I want to do some testing with a few of them before I commit to anything.

Just layer whatever you want.

You can rollback and refunded all the mats used for the layered weapon minus the few hundred points spent.

And

No, because now it's harder to tell what kind of potato wp ppl are really using, before you could look at an elemental wp and knew if they were dealing any dps or not, now you have to inspect the wp.

It's great so far, but I do hope they allow us to have a unique base AND part for layered weapons in the future.

I think everyone is. There were too many weapons that no one in their right mind would ever use, like Kirin, Savage Deviljho and Daora weapons to name a few, which had some pretty amazing designs across the board, which can now be used and seen.

If it can cover up the ugly brain drain of seeing endless Safi and Lightbreak weapons that's perfectly okay with me, also gives me complete freedom in what layered armour and weapon I can use too. It's all good. No drawbacks at all to this, other than the time it took them to actually roll it out through the door..

so why do you need to know what other people are using? just focus on your own dps and have fun

That's not how co-op games work, work as a team and each member tries to do their part in the hunt. It's not fun when someone is barely doing 10% and others are forced to carry the burden.
