Detected an incorrect value in the save data

Is anyone not able to select a character? Like all updates, I removed all mods from the install folder. When you select a character, the game gives a popup that says "Detected an incorrect value in the save data. Returning to the title screen."

How to fix:
1) Start game in offline mode (Steam menu > Go Offline)
2) Sell all items you can't legitimately obtain, especially Azure Era Seals
3) Save, bring Steam back into online mode, and enter the game normally

ok so I did it but in my defense the added the frostfang barrioth it in the upgrade menu so I use my force forge thing and was like "ooooh they added that were is the quest" could not find the quest thought I was just too weak and went on with my day

there is no defense here you cheated and didnt inform yourself as they actually told us when frostfang comes with a date even aswell so you got into trouble rightfully. so you only got yourself to blame for that.

like for real who cheats forge items into the game? that defeats the entire point of playing this whole damn game. may aswell uninstall if youre that lazy.

Offline Mode dont work i cant Start with my Savegame and i didnt done anything Wrong i only looked at the new Weapons but got nothing -.- That Sucks

Look for the mod id 3822 on the nexus ("time gate remover - item unblock plugin" released july 9th). It allows you to bypass the sanity check and can work as a temporary solution while you look for a way to fix your save.

Logged in 3 days ago did nothing, logged out and it was fine, logged in today and got this error message. I haven't hacked any unobtainable items in to my game so a bit confused on what happened.
