Is the online part of this game dead?
46k ppl online, 5 hours of me posting quests and sending SOS and in the end finishing all quests alone, i can take my 3DS now turn on MH4U or Generations and find more ppl willing to play then in MHW which has 20 times more ppl online.

It depends on what you hunt. Doing the popular end game stuff will get your lobby filled pretty quickly.

posted quests only show up in your current room, so only a few people can even see them, and not many people bother responding to SOS flares unless you've used a voucher thing or its a special quest of some sort.

I only end up playing multiplayer if I'm the one responding to SOS'

Well than it a big problem of this game community if you aske me, in MH4U and Generations ppl where willing to help out others with any quests. Here it seems everyone is just playing for themselves and only joining to get what they want the easy way, since the quest is probably already halfway done at the point the do join.

The SOS system seems to be restricted by your download region, so there just may not be a lot of players in your region.

Or you're posting quests no one wants to do anyway.

Which exactly proves my points, dead community, cause if no one really wants to play with others without having a specific goal like materials, and instead just wanting to help out others, then it means the communmity is dead.

Dead is the wrong term then, Dead implies that there are no players playing at all, not that there aren't players doing what you want to do. Besides, whats the point in doing something if you don't need anything from the quest? Only reason I'd do that is to help out an IRL friend, not internet randoms.

90% of the time I'm playing by myself anyway, from all games from Freedom Unite until now.

Try posting Investigations with a lot of rewards. You should have a better chance of not being alone with the extra incentives but I can't garuntee it.

Yeah no thank you, i dont want randoms to cart on my "die once its over" investigations and lose them. I just wanna do my normal quests with ppl as the game was actually intended.

Better get some friends to play with you then.

Still haven't said what quest you couldn't get people to join.

Oh yeah cause im a NEET with no life and have NEET's as friends to go and be able to play day by day at same times and want to play the same games. If the game would be intended for this it would still use the old 4 man rooms from previous games not let you make a 16 player room and still be able to play with other ppl from other rooms if the send out an SOS.

You keep saying "as it was intended" like its true. if it was "intended" to be played that way, it wouldn't let you NOT play that way, and wouldn't dynamically balance depending on the amount of players, and I would have 1/20th of the time in the MH franchise that I do now.

And if you send out an SOS it DOES show to all players who search for SOS to join outside the room you are in, but its up to the person to decide if they want to join if the quest has anything they need. Its just normally posting quests that are room based only.

Or you could try playing solo, its actually better for players to 1v1 the monster a few times before going multiplayer as it forces people to know the movesets of the monster and know how to kill them so they don't join MP and expect people to carry them.

Join a Discord server to try getting a group running that way, as the vast majority of multiplayer in this game is just through SOS. I can count on one hand how many times I've hunted with random people within my session, and all of them were in tempered hunts I was hosting.
