Should You switch out to bow later on?
That's up to you. Providing you got the gear and decos to make an optimized set, go for it. Bow doesn't do well on a poverty set.
I dont think I've ever gotten far enough to get decos? I've beaten the game on Ps4, but I never really did end game.
Once you have the correct decorations though, bow becomes extremely strong. Early on, damage is low and it's probably difficult to manage stamina usage as well so play literally any other weapon.
Don't worry about bow until you start getting Safi Jiva gear, IMO.
It's a good idea to learn how to play melee before you learn how to play bow, anyway. Because most of your time is going to be in melee range landing spread shots on specific weak points.
Then when you're late game, you'll know the monsters well enough to dance around them.
Bow sucks early game!
That's not due to a lack of decos, it's because a massive lack in stamina!
To play bow even remotely the way it's meant to be you need to get this juicy 50% stamina reduction from Constitution 5 as well as some levels of Stamina Surge as fast a possible!
Also eat your Steak!
> Get Stamina, the more the better
> Get a Bow for each element
> Start using Critical Element set bonus
> Stack Crit chance.
Safi 5p + latent power is nice too. Safi set will self-activate it and give you a juicy stamina use reduction.
its not like it matters much and if done right even the first element upgrade paths are enough to strip monsters like LR Anjanath down in like 3-4 minutes without any fancy dedicated armor set or skill setup.
What matters first and foremost is element. Fast hitting weapons just profit way more from it than slow ones like a GS so thats the focus. What you first want to work towards for are element up skills like Fire attack up. After that come skills for bolstering affinity and lastly come comfort skills to reduce stamina consumtion like constitution.
Just remember: if a monster catches you with your pants down and no stamina, you overcommited for what its worth so learn from that. So, play conservative and find what you are comfortable with. Its not like you magicaly get better by just switching your weapon since you still learn the ropes. And toss out all that stuff about endgame min-maxing as thats still far away, just have fun since it matters not as much as people claim it does unless your crunch the numbers in minute detail.
