Bow status coatings
Okay, So I have been wondering this for a while but does anyone know the EXACT numbers on how much of a given status a status coating on a Bow gives, I have always just presumed it takes the element of your weapon and then turns that into status for the hit or it has a set number of status to apply per coating, (say like 20 para per arrow that hits) but is it an exact number it gives or does it use a part of the bows raw damage to calculate it, I have never known so I am asking now as this is really starting to wreck my brain on how they work.

I have been looking for the answer to this question for a while and all I can find is just useless answers talking about things like how status is applied though monster thresholds, Stuff people tend to find out on their first week of playing.and nothing partaking to how much status that status coatings give.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing the answer to this if anyone has it as I am wanting to make a status bow build but am unsure if Safi or True Critical Status is the way to go. I am also willing to bet that I am not the only one wondering about this as we know the amount it gives is a lot but just not sure of the numbers.

running the test with no status bonus but using Tobi bow with Para Plus made it do True Crit status values.

did the normal set with Fulger anja bow with 18 thunder gave same stats as Legiana, so imma just assume the only thing that changes is your set and if its status ammo or status Plus.

Thanks, so they are static and not based on the bow and True status crit is not the way to go for status bow.

But if they are static and not affected by bow to bow then why does the Safi Set even effect them at all...?

I feel asking someone to waste dracolite on that is a bit much but if they run the numbers using a different bow then it will tell you if the Safi bow will matter for the coatings, also form what I have heard people say status plus coatings are like a 25% increase

lol yeah I know its kind of a tall order. I was thinking the same thing.

Safi set bonus more or less gives you Crit eye, all the Elemental attacks and the Status attacks. because status attacks would boost those numbers. from the games wording Dragon Vein Awakening Elem., Abnormal Status, & Affinity up with weapon drawn.

That makes sense, again thanks for running these numbers they are super helpful/

Now I need to ask you the boss level of questions, If you have the Kjaar arrow Blast would you be able to run the numbers with that and the 5 part safi set to see what status numbers that pulls in because in theory they should be the highest in the game even now and even though it is a high rank weapon as it will have 5 part safi and status crit.

Kjarr Blast with Safi 5 set, seems with no coatings works like melee weapons for blast. only a chance but a lot of blast, when it went off with no charge got 20 blast.
PSP 9, 24, 68, 90. Blast 16, 50, 120,141

Is that why using blast coating on a bow that has natural blast attack will result in LESS blast buildup and result in power coating building up more blast?

I've even experimented with the brachy bow which has blast+, and it still feels like power coating does the job better.

Well as tested, the buildup is a fixed amount that only depends on the charge level. What's been said about hitzones is wrong, status buildup isn't hitzone dependant.
The status attack skill should affect coatings aswell, I know for sure that it at least affects bowgun ammo and according to the testing above it's affected by Safi's set bonus.

Applying a status coating removes/overwrites the default element (or blast status) so yeah it can be detrimental. Power coatings have no effect whatsoever on element or status, they're "just" a raw boost. Close range coatings, too.

That said blast bows aren't really worth it outside of a few matchups with bad elemental hitzones. The optimal set for these matchups is probably 5 pcs Safi and full attack/crit spec with resentment but idk.

Super late to the party, but would 3pc safi + crit element or 5pc safi be better for applying status?
