Charge blade question
Started getting into the charge blade today. 2 questions

1. with the capacity boost extra phials, does the shield power up last longer?

2. with extra phials, does the super discharge actually do more damage? I tested it in the training grounds and it does not seem to hit any harder?

1 - I think so. Everyone runs capacity boost anyways, so it's not like it matters.

2 - Yes. It adds an extra phial explosion.

Capacity boost is a must for all charge blades, since it's basically more fuel for an SAED, savage axe, AED, ED, whatever the hell you need.
Run it.

Yes to both
Yes, the shield charge will last about 30 secs longer.

More phials more damage, the training pole/cart are quite small and because of the large range of SAED getting all of the phials to show up on the damage counter is quite tricky.

Max charge time on shield without power prolonger is 3 minutes, and with capacity boost, you get the full 3 minutes from just 1 full set of phials

That's why I said extra 30s as the regular up time is 2:30.

so ideally you want both power prolonger AND capacity boost? any other skills useful to have on a CB build?

No, you don't need power prolonger. Better invest in the usual crit skill (crit boost, crit eye, wex, etc)
If you use impact phial, go artillery 5
If you use elemental phial make sure your element attack at lv 6.

Offensive guard for that big saed number. Also having guard higher than 1 for comfort until you get the handle on using point guard consistantly.

capacity boost, max affinity, crit boost, at least 1 guard, (artillery/element attack). focus(recommended for saed style), Offensive guard is a matter of preferences, its quite hard to proc and not last long. guard up for certain match up.

master touch/handicraft/polish,hard enduring/razor sharp choose 1.

It's not hard to proc at all. Every guard point will proc offensive guard so you'll get plenty of procs per hunt and it will add to your counter SAED damage.

Guard points don't give offensive guard unless you block immediately before the attack connects. I block roars and many attacks with guard points without procing offensive guard unfortunately.

Are you sure on this? I might have to experiment a bit with it, but it seems to proc everytime I guard point except if I'm transitioning from a normal guard.
