I'm using a Gamecube styled Switch Pro Controller... how switch B/X?

Using B and Y to attack is just... weird. Not just the placement, but since it's gamecube styled I'm pressing the smallest possible button on the controller as an attack.

Every single other MH game I've played with a nintendo controller (read: MH games on nintendo CONSOLES) has had the attack buttons being X and Y and I have such hard-coded muscle memory for it that it's throwing me off.

Is there legitimately no way to set custom controls in-game in 2020? I know I can ♥♥♥♥ with Steam settings but that's such a disgusting pain in the ass that I really want to avoid it as much as possible.

You can't expect complete support for every non-standard controller, noone does this. What's the problem with setting your buttons in Steam? It takes seconds.

I also use a Gamecube controller(best controller design ever don't @ me).
To swap the B/X inputs you have to do it in the steam settings. There doesn't seem to be any other way around it unfortunately.

Having the ability to change button mappings on the controller isn't that ludicrous of an idea you strange, strange man. Most games do it.

You can use garbage nintendo drift controllers on the PC in 2020 and this kid is complaining that in 2020 there is a solution to his issue but it's not good enough for him in 2020. Do you see how obnoxious you sound? (in 2020).

I'm likely older than you, given I've never heard a person above the age of 25 use the word "kid" to refer to other people online.

Steam controller remapping has never been anything but difficult for me, and even today trying to get it to work it just plain doesn't make any sense. I tried to do a simple swap of X and B and somehow my confirm button ended up being A, and I had never even touched it.

The Steam Option to Map everything on the controller is there because most games don't allow it (Hello Console Port), you get most of the time 2 or 3 predetermined control settings and that's it

Just set it up in Steam, I use a Switch Pro and it takes like 30 seconds.
