On lvl 3. It only gets active when your stamina is full for a couple of seconds. Which makes it useless for everything but maybe bowguns.

Thats why we got maximum might secret. Works like pre ib but with even more affinity.

If you don't have iceborne, there will be no changes. Maximum might has a short timer before it actually works now, 5 or 6 seconds. Which means if you ever run, or use stamina, it is much worse.

Maximum might secret is a set bonus from a creature(don't recall which), and at maximum it no longer has the time limit.

Wait wait wait. Without iceborne.. it's not changed? Really? Thats a bummer. Didnt know that ! Thats why OP was confused.

If you're going to build around a set to get a bonus, there's better than maximum might secret like masters touch and agitator secret.

Max might isn't good for weapons that use stamina during their attacks. Running it on hammer means it won't apply to any of your charge attacks. They also nerfed it into the floor. Without specific armor pieces that allow you to have the skill at level 5, you have to be full stamina for a small eternity to get the buff and you still lose it instantly when you use stamina for any reason, starting the timer again.

The biggest change Capcom introduced is the activation timer:

Before Iceborne, it will activate immediately when your stamina reaches full and deactivate right when stamina drops.

After Iceborne, it will activate after your stamina stays full for 4 seconds and shall remain active for 2 seconds after stamina were consumed.

However, like many have said. Maximum Might is bad for hammer, because it goes against some of the hammer's core abilities: Charge Attack, Ledge hopping AND Sliding attack.

These 3 abilities required Stamina to perform which means maximum might will be redundant.

Affinity Sliding is way, way better than max might on hammer, and it's 1 decoration slot.

maxmight works fine pre iceborne with hammer, just saying. the last hit charged hammer bigbang(dunno correct name) got max might.

not a fan but jinx jinx tuna provide the data before.

but after iceborne, we rarely need more affinity. since there is no meta weapon with minus affinity,

and here i got question, so people without iceborne, their max might and wex still works like before???

not all hunt placed with sliding terrain.

from the wiki:

For levels 1 to 4, the stamina has to be kept full for 5 seconds for the skill to activate and the effect lasts for a few seconds after losing stamina depending on the skill level:

Level 1: Lasts for 2 seconds after stamina is used
Level 2: Lasts for 3 seconds after stamina is used
Level 3: Lasts for 3 seconds after stamina is used
Level 4: Lasts for 4 seconds after stamina is used

At level 5, the skill activates as soon as the stamina is full and deactivates as soon as stamina is used (pre-Iceborne behavior).

honestly i wouldnt use it for any melee weapon, except maybe hunting horn... maybe greatsword? idk

It is workable for LongSword, as long as you don't sheath you weapon to run. I mean, I certain used it while cutting Safi's tail.

GreatSword... If you play in an Old School method, certainly no (Run Up to draw attack). TCS spammer, probably fine.

Good on LBG as long as you don't go into sliding reload.

ChargeBlade, SwitchAxe, Lance, Gunlance, HBG... the inconsistency might put off some people.

Hunting Horn can definitely use it.

Max Might 5 on hammer is really great, just pop a dash juice and it'll work on every big attack. Use Stam Surge if you're nervous. Good thing Fury Jang arms have 2 levels of stam surge. It's also good on HH but it's terrible on GS if you tackle a lot (tackle eats TONS of stamina)
Warkrunner May 20, 2020 @ 1:01am
Naw, max might isn't that *great* for greatsword if you tackle, or roll into a tackle to continue attacking. I agree, max might is awesome for hunting horn.
It's also better than WEX for elemental and pierce bowguns.
