Hello! Just started MHW and have a question about weapon upgrade. Why i can't upgrade Defender Shield to III and IV? I have all mats, but it says i cant (I have rank II shield equiped)

Weapon progression is tied to the story progression.

Or you simply don't have the right money.

don't use defender equipment. it's a new thing that's heavily unbalanced and will make the game too easy for you until they're suddenly not good enough.
by then you wont have any personal experience or skill and the game will be impossible for you. you wont be in an environment that will enable you to learn.

you'll be stuck. and bad.

You can learn in master rank I can't get into your mindset of don't do.

The maximun level for defender weapons is the Lv V, you have to continue with the story to unlock the upgrades.
The deffender stuff was made for peope that wanted to start Iceborne rapidly and because that is only for the master edition.

Hmmm idk about this because I used defender weapons while i started but now I can still kill monsters like tempered ruiner nergigante and furious rajang in 4-5 mins++ But then I'm already mr 680 so i guess experience plays a role here? haha!
