Then you just max the element skill for the element you're using, get as high affinity as you can, use Normal Shot and Spread Shot decos and you should be golden. Not sure how much of it is possible in base game compared to IB, since much less decoration slots are available.
other is kjaar in my opinion
after update i dont think anja still fire king, but i dont know the exact info
Elementess is good for monsters with bad zones like nergigante and zinogre. Also I use it if I want to play bow against multiple monsters like GL or the crown event quests. I use the Safi shatterbow, but I've read the raging bracy bow is better. I jist can't seem to get it to out perform the Safi bow though.
If you want to go elementless. For base game, your best bet is probably either Diablos or Deviljho (not technically Elementless but it has more raw, slightly better affinity and an additional augment slot, though the Diablos bow does have 2 level 1 slots).
For builds, you can use them how you want, though Raw does excel at the rather amusing Dragonpiercer-Only style which basically consists of:
Drawing -> Fully charging -> Dragonpiercer -> Sheathe -> Repeat...
Skills for such a style are typically:
Critical Draw 3
Critical Boost 3
Piercing Shots 2 (though it may be limited to 1 without Iceborne)
Special Ammo Boost 2
Bow Charge Plus
Non-Elemental Boost (if applicable)
Critical Eye (only enough to reach 0% affinity, if base is negative)
Then as much additional raw damage as you can pack in after any Survivability/Utility skills you want to run (though it's worth bearing in mind you don't need any stamina skills for this style)
for dragon pierce porpouses (my old meme build) i remember the BIS was the yellow taroth "fire"
Though, this is assuming you can get a hold of it, which I guess is the benefit of the 'blos and 'jho options.
