Is slugger not worth it?
In MR i find it a lot lot harder to stagger monsters and im not sure im contributing in mulitplayer with it.

It feels like it's not as impactful as it should be (pun not originally intended but I'll take it).

Even going for the full slugger secret (Slugger 5) doesn't feel like it does as much as +60% should.

EDIT: (This is regarding with hammer/hunting horn)

i myself use impact mantle + 2slugger.

n3 HBG,, for helping story tier 1 monster, worth it.

and my peak performance hammer always become 3 slugger + flinch free in multiplayer. worth it in my case..

other than that, i dunno

Generally status increasing buffs aren't really worth it.

Because of the immunity build up in most cases you will get around 1 more status in a hunt, depending on circumstances.

Two combos with a HH with slugger secret knocks out a monster in multiplayer for me, solo play the monster might as well stay down.

Definitely worth it in my books, that's 60% faster KO.

It's not worth it if you're joining a group where the fight will last a long time due to not using DPS phases well.

i know this is gonna sound annoying, and doing it is pretty annoying, but get to MR 125 and do the optional quest "Hymn of Sun and Moon" to upgrade your impact mantle, slugger 3 with impact mantle+ and monsters will barely be able to stand up. PS the impact mantle+ has 2 level 3 deco slots so you can fit 2/3 slugger points in it

Are you a hammer user? Because two KO’s per hunt is just about the best you could hope for if its just you hitting the head. If you’re having trouble keeping up the pressure though, one or two points in slugger can help a lot. This is because in general any points in slugger doesn’t mean extra KO’s because of the increased resistence each time, instead the bonus KO damage allows you to get earlier KO’s in a hunt. You can really see the difference in solo hunts against weak monsters, where bonus spoints in slugger can often times mean a KO within a minute or two of starting the fight.

On armour or weapons, No.

On impact mantle+, Yes.

Also critical status says i do more damage for status effects but im using poison and i don't see a damage increase

That's not quite how statuses work.
Status damage doesn't actually do damage, it fills a hidden internal bar that the monster has that when filled procs the associated status effect.

That 'critical status' means that you fill that bar more quickly when you crit and apply satus in the same hit.

Its worth it if you want to try a CC hammer meme build with para/stun/stamina thief otherwise not so much
Dis-member May 9, 2020 @ 5:49am
probably depends on the weapon. my hbg with slugger and explosive/exhaust damage boosts stuns a ♥♥♥♥ ton. not stagger. full blown stun.

If you're using a "Kinsect Only" IG build you generally have room for bonus skills like this. If you're using a Blunt Kinsect then KO is best while Partbreaker is the preferred skill for Sever. In multiplayer KO can mean the difference between 1 or 2 KOs in a normal hunt.

When helping someone level I prefer Sever to cut tails and offer bonus loot while if I'm on endgame content I prefer blunt because the bonus damage from a KO is always helpful.

Exhaust is flat out bad. Enraged monsters ignore it, and elders can't be exhausted.

wrong for one bit, Nergigante and Kushala Daora CAN get exhausted
and it's significant in solo, multiplayer not so much, but then again multiplayer nerf everything dramatically
