Can't play at 120 hz with Vsync on 2560x1440
Currently having a issue getting this game to work at 1440p 120Hz on my LG C9 TV. When I try to play Monster Hunter World without vsync or G-Sync on it goes right to 90-110FPS but then there is screen tearing of course.

1. Drivers are the latest as of 5/6/2020.
2. G-Sync and V-Sync on in the control panel.
3. Yes the TV is capable of 120Hz at 1440p.
4. TV has the latest software update as well.
5.1080p works fine at 120hz with G-sync or vsync
6. 2560x1440 @120hz is enabled in the Nvidia control panel and works properly outside the game.

Specs

GPU: RTX 2080 Max-q
CPU: i7 8750H
RAM: DDR4 2x8GB @2666mhz

I did try DLSS and it was a nice touch they added. When I run the game with G-Sync off it actually goes right up to 90-110FPS at 1440p with DLSS on. It just doesn't seem to want to work at 1440p with vsync on and locks it straight to 60Hz. That's why I thought maybe it was something in the .ini but I didn't find anything. I hope this helps, thank you for your input.

Are you really that dense? I am not trying to play at 4k at 120hz. Read the original post, you're not adding anything useful to the comments. Game plays at 1440p fine at 95 fps until I try to use vsync. Then it locks it to 60hz. 95Fps looks alot better than 60fps, thats where I want to be and my card is capable of it at the settings I have set it to. That is the issue I am trying to figure out. I don't want screen tearing which is why I'm trying to use vsync or gsync with my display. Which are not working at 1440p. Learn to read.
wall of text cba to read it lol :P #truth

for comparison

i enable G-sync on my Freesync Monitor @ 1440 and i have around about 70-80 FPS
refresh rate is dynamically adjusted (which is the whole point of G-Sync/Freesnyc)

V-Sync is OFF

works flawless, no tearing

The game would instantly use less CPU resources the moment they remove denuvo. If they ever do it.

I've tried turning Vsync on and off, cap and no cap with no visible difference in fps, at least when I ran around in Seliana hub. Haven't checked fights with huge particle effects yet. Weirdly enough, I got some particle tearing, misrendering (don't know how to properly describe it), when I turn global framerate cap on in NVidia control.

Vsync doesn't lock you to frames, but it locks you to the refresh rate of a monitor, the fact that you're using a TV could be either control panel on your pc isn't setup a certain way, or the TV itself is actually locked to 60hz because of HDMI specs.

HDCP2.2 is what you have judging by what you said your TV was (LG C9) you should check your model exactly and see what version of HDMI its running.

Honestly though I can tell you right now, nvidia 20xx series max Q cards HDMI ports are NOT HDMI 2.1 that fact alone locks you on 60hz for inputs.

There is also a reddit post about this.

theres a comment in there specifying VRR(LG's and nvidia partnered Gsync) range is locked to 40-60hz using 4k.

hope this helps.

also Im assuming you using maxq design you're on a laptop?

Yes It is in a laptop, never was able to find if mine had hdmi 2.1 or not, online information is conflicting. I definitely don't have access to 4k 120hz like lg was flaunting, no cards have 2.1 ports yet. As for high end laptops I wasn't sure. 1440p 120hz does work outside of the game fine. Just not in this game specifically. I probably won't even consider 4k 120hz until I build my next system. I will check out the links you posted, Thank you Sir!
