In 2 weeks, the next good GS is the Raging Brachydios one. It almost equals in strength with the Safi GS, but it's more flexible due to the Lv4 and Lv3 Deco Slots + the fact that you have natural purple sharpness.
A good substitute is the Royal Venus Blade RVB (1296 atk) (upgrade from Guild Palace Blade) from the event: 50 Shades of White (MR 7 or higher).
Where a single point of handicraft will push RVB into purple, suppressing Immovable Dharma that requires Lv5 Handicraft to push it to purple sharpness.
But the ultimate end game GS (as of now) is the Safi's GS which can give 1450+ atk while having 5% affinity.
this. rajang GS is also a decent non safi GS.
if you build for crit draw+frostcraft, velkhana and rathalos GS are the best, choose between those 2 depending of the elemental weakness for the monster. i have no idea if safi greatswords are better for this playstyle tough.
guild palace GS is also a strong and pretty comfy option.
Every GS should be viable for a Frostcraft build since element on a GS is kinda a trap. 600 element on a GS might add a bit bonus damage but it's really minor.
That being said, they are both great GS but in comparison, Safi outclasses all of them right now
But you're not likely to get more than 2 sleeps if GS is the only one with it, maybe not even more than 1.
Blast is, at least from what I've seen, considered the best, even without any status boosting skills, but the sleep looks better IMO and there is always the matter that if you're GS in the first place, everyone wants you to TCS a wakeup hit because "big number jaja".
I don't think that element ones are worth it, but maybe if the monster has 3 star weakness and you are running full Safi crested armor there could be SOME scenarios it outperforms blast damage. Note that I do not know if Safi weapons have an element cap, as a lot of other weapon types so far people have tried to reach a cap and failed. But common sense says element/status bad for slow weapons, we just obviously don't have a straight raw option from Safi.
Also I'm not sure how well a Frostcraft/Crit draw build works for GS, never looked into their viability. It's too easy to reach 100% affinity in IB so I haven't seen Crit draw used in a while.
