I care about one thing and one thing only, hunting monsters.
You're right. Domesticated pigs are ideal pets.
Or download that one mod that turns it into a miniature and totally messed up tiny Handler, warped skeleton and all, then name it "The Handler" and it'll make you laugh everytime you go near it and it pops up "The Handler - *oink oink*"
you could simply go to the gathering hall instead and he won't be there..
Good grief, no!
Pigs and hogs are disgusting creatures. They take the term "omnivorous" to new levels, they'll eat anything.
...Anything.
Did you know pigs are cannibals? It's true.
If a pig/hog dies around other pigs/hogs, they will actually eat the pig's carcass.
(Kinda like that Boost Mobile commercial, with the pigs eating pork. "We're just enjoying the flavors of a fallen friend." ...Real life pigs actually will do that.)
That's one of the main reason why numerous cultures around the world banned eating pigs, or even herding them: They're nasty, and filled with disease (which usually happens with species that eat dead carcasses (those carry all kinds of diseases))
Hogs with tusks will even gladly rip you open with their razor-sharp tusks, and after killing you, will then eat your corpse.
...Not the most pleasant image, is it?
They'll do all of that, even on a farm.
Hog pens are dangerous for that very reason. You don't go into one without loads of protection from the foul porcine beasts.
There have been cases on farms where someone accidentally falls into a pig pen, and gets killed by them.
(Granted, the farmer might be able to stop the pigs from eating said corpse, but it doesn't do the dead guy a fat lot of good.)
I'm not sure our perceptions of pet pigs are the same.
