Ok, Where is my Low/High Rank Layered armor!?

Came back to the game after a long break and was excited to see that some of the low/high rank layered finally made it to PC. That was until I realized I can't see the option to forge it. I just slayed my first Rajang so maybe im not quite far enough into assignments maybe? Can someone shed some light pls.

I've already checked that as mentioned and it doesn't appear there. do you know at what point in the story im suppossed to unlock it?

Don't you need to find each monster's respective materials in the Guiding Lands first?

This. You need to get parts from them all in the guiding lands.

so for anjanath layered, gather from anjanath in GL? I swear ive killed a bajillion of them. Im MR 100+. I thought i'd at least see the option to craft in the smithy. ATM i dont even know what materials to gather for any given low/high rank layered armor because all I see in my forge menu is the stuff pre-rajang update.

IIRC you'll need to get some of the GL-specific mats from the volcanic/hoarfrost areas in GL for them to start popping up.
