If you're doing co-op with randoms and the random LS user is an issue, you really aren't in any situation where you should worry that much about your turbo min max build anyway. The team isn't going to play flawlessly and break a world record, don't worry about it.
As fun as it is to meme about LS users, weapon choice doesn't tell much about player skill. See: Hammer users talking nonstop in here about how everyone else needs to play properly, only to meet them ingame and see them start bonking at Zino's tail after a wallbang knockdown.
Here's the funny thing. There are more LS main, hence higher chance of seeing LS tripping others.
Even some bow ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ keep using force shot, flinching me knowing that my character is just going to block all their damage.
The only weapons that I rarely see them tripping others are HH, Hammer, SNS, LBG/HBG (without cluster), and lance.
If we're following your advice, those 5 weapon users (LS, DB, SA, CB, IG) need to change.
Give me 3 LS teammates and they flinch me.
Give me 3 DB teammates and they flinch me.
Give me 3 SA teammates and they flinch me.
Give me 3 IG teammates and they flinch me.
So it is fine if other weapons are flinching me?
1. Foresight Slash is a counter to monster's attack, but the invincible windows is 0.6 second by default. With this timing window, you'll need to understand the monster's move flow in (when) and flow out (how many hits).
2. The new Iai Spirit Slash have a stricter window of somewhere between 0.01 to 0.05 second. Again, timed it correctly, you countered a monster's attack with no damage. Messed it up = damage straight to your face.

yea this too i started playing bow recently i notice even LBG (that were stand behind me) also flinch me as well also SA and such so it's not just LS
That being said there are some people who lack those brain cells and I will immediately kick anyone in my quest playing clusters.
Bah, whenever I play without FF for whatever reason, if I get finched I know that it is my fault so, instead of coming to Steam to cry like a little baby, I simply laugh at it when it happens and enjoy the game.
To sum up, I don't agree it is because of the large number of longsword users, but due to the large number of people not knowing some basics and what they are doing, and that like to complain in the real life instead of admiting that they are wrong.
