Safi aquashot question
Dear All, im a newbie to range weapon but all the ppl says that safi aquashot is the best to fight safi itself especially breaking wings back and hindlegs,

so now my questions are:

-Is it better to go sticky 3 or elemental water ammo?
-armor wise it is better to go narga+zorah or safijiva set if im going elemental ammo?

Thanks,
and any other inputs are welcome since i am a newbie to this weapon!

The Water Ammo build is the higher DPS by a lot, but Sticky makes it easier for you to break what YOU want. In the first run even with the Garu Sticky build from pre-Safi, you can break both Wings and the Head once alone. Water Ammo can't do that, because Safi needs to me immobile and you need to be in a good position to hit enough times. Otherwise you are doing less damage. That said, during a single KO, 2 Water Ammo LBGs can break 1 Wing. Sticky can't do that. So it's very situational.

For the Sticky build, you want Nargacuga Essence, 3 Attack V and 1 Attack VI on the weapon. Armor is 2 piece Narga and 3 piece Zorah. You want 5 Artillery and 3 Free Elem/Ammo Up. The rest is as much Attack increasing skills as possible (like Attack Boost, Peak Performance, Agitator etc). Sticky's explosion can't crit, so unless you plan to use other damage ammo types (which you really shouldn't), anything Crit related is wasted. For Bowgun Mods it's 2 Recoil and 2 Evading Reload. All the reloading will happen with that. If you miss it then you are locked into a reloading animation.

For the Water build, you want Elemental Capacity III, Recoil/Reload Support, 3 Attack V. Augment with Elemental damage. As much as humanly possible. If you don't feel comfortable without lifesteal, then you can add a Health Augment. The armor here is 5 piece Safi. You want to max Water Attack, WEX and Crit Boost, as well as Free Elem/Ammo Up. The rest doesn't really matter much. You can get either 1 Critical Eye or 4 Attack Boost to cap out on Affinity chance. So you can fill the rest with Utilities if you want. If you want to maximise Damage, then go for the usual. Except forget Peak Performance and add Resentment instead, because the Safi self-damage leaves a Red gauge for you with an almost 100% uptime.
Keep in mind that Safi's set damages you, then heals it back. So you don't want to sheath your weapon until you got healed back, otherwise your HP will get lower and lower.
For the Bowgun Mods you need 4 Recoil overall. The last is Reload. It depends on what you got for Awakening. If you got a Reload, then it's 4 Recoil. If you got a Recoil, then it's 3 Recoil and 1 Reload.

Keep in mind that since the Sticky has a very low Ammo supply. For Water you also burn through you reserves very fast. This means you need to bring materials to craft additional Ammo midhunt. It's recommended to add the crafting to the Radial Menu.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, but I feel like this is a given: Take Partbreaker 3 for every build if you are doing Safi with it. And that goes for everyone.

If you are going for sticky this is what you want awakening wise.

You could alter it a bit if you are going for Water but it still works for water.

Elemental with safi set + part breaker is the way to go against safi.

But at the end of the day, you still need both sticky aquashot and elemental aquashot.
For now, just stick with elemental aquashot.

TYVM sir this is what i'm looking for, so that being said it depends on my playstyle and my teammates right? so it's a given that i should build TWO safiaquashot according to your guideline to sum it up, is it correct?

Edit:

the sticky build is similar from teamdarkside video XD
