I figured everyone would be using Safi weapons within a day or so, so I may as well not get used to Elderseal since it'll be pretty much gone, etc.
unlike kulve however safi has no part break mechanic locking your progression so in this senario it's optional. and if there is one thing large monsters hate its elemental ammo. ripped through stage1 kulve and it does the same to safi.
otherwise yeah part break and even the slightest attempt to organize your group into breaking the parts are actually worth points helps get things going.
now for elder seal its not really worth putting too much thought into. it helps dragon edge out over the other elemental options but it isnt a reason to swap your your raw weapons outside of possibly for nergi gear since those weapons tended to be around top 3 to begin with.
Yeah and end up wasting time because you only get half the rewards.
