With any game on steam that's been out a while you just have to wait a couple of weeks or so, then when a sale hits it will be sold for it's true price.
you can buy mhw in steam for 27~ €
and in ps store it's about 40~€
but yeah thats false in how it works. i'd explain it but why bother.
I.e. 10% off through GMG / Humble Bundle, etc. (various other discounts additionally apply on top of this, such as % spent returned as in-store $)
It's usually cheaper to assemble a full library of PC Games, than of Console Gaming, even when considering Used Games; this discrepancy is based on the success of the individual game (Fallout 76 versus Monster Hunter World).
PC Gaming is best for when picking up the newest games out there, as Console users will average $65 USD for a copy, whereas the PC, same day, will pay $53.
