If you are using faster weapons (SnS, Bow, Light bow gun, dual blades) make sure you have water element, it will help. For slower weapons you should use the best damage you can.
In general i suggest learning the moveset and attacks of Anja, even if that means failing the quest a few times. Learn which way to roll, and how each move is telegraphed (I.e. the movement before each attack that monsters do).
Hope that helped a little

First of all, don't feel bad about it. You're going to encounter more difficulty spikes, it's part of the game.

I'd suggest crafting the highest defense armor you can craft (but do note any elemantal weaknesses) and upgrading your weapon to the highest damage you can currently get to.

This will help make the fight a bit easier, however...

It's all about learning what the monster likes to do and utilizing any openings it may have.
To know how to utilize the openings, you need to learn what your weapon can do and what the best option is in a given situation.

The best way to learn is to critically look at what is causing you to fail a hunt.
If you are getting one shot, perhaps it's time to upgrade your armor.
If you run out of time, it's time to upgrade your weapon yesterday!
If you get hit a lot, learn the monster's tells so you know what is comming.
For example, if it's going to use it's tail, stay away from the tail and use the time to attack something else. You'll want to be in a position to quickly move out of harms way and also have the time to take advantage of the window.
If you see a big attack comming but you can't get out of the way, superman dive!

Most importantly, keep trying. You'll see yourself get better every hunt, and eventually you'll beat it.

Welp your first git gud monster usualy means you should step back, stay defensive, evade as much as you can and just observe. Look at it, try to get used to its attacks. All you need to do is figure out where to be at what time. Anjanath is not a difficult monster to read - most of his telegraohs are pretty lengthy and clear. The only thing that denies you from going at it head on is how much coverage his attacks have so try to work around that. Try going on its sides, under its belly, from behind, just try to position yourself better - it's what the whole game is about.

Break his legs, then attack his legs again with all your might

Learn the monster attack pattern, positioning yourself while attacking and defending, use element or ailment weapon that focus on anjanath weakness, focus on leg to make him down so you can deal more hit and damage while he triping, be patient and wait right moment to attack, rolling down when you get hit by his flame to cool down the fire, flash pod and trap for easier catch and buying sometime for you to kill or escape from his attack and experience all thing by yourself.

For beginners, the easiest way to get past the Anjanth wall is to bring a lot of Flash pods since he is usually less aggressive when flashed.

Monster immune to flash after 3 time. Right?

Only Tempered monsters are immune to Flash after 3 - 4 times.

Anjanath is the one monster that can still kick my ass.

Stay between his legs, it's the least threatening place. Use traps and para frogs as he likes to hang out in areas that have those.

I think the main challenge is Anja being an intro to monsters who's weak points flail around up in the sky making it harder to deal damage if you lack range. Ontop of that, once he falls over he gets back up immediately.

Not sure if shooting watermoss at his mouth when he's fired up douses it?

remove all armor, dodge, hit, dodge hit, dodge hit

Anjanath likes to use a move I like to call the snort-doze usually in a rage and right after getting off any kind of CC on you. Be that a bump, roar, hit or whatever, if you get knocked on your butt, he'll more than likely follow up with a loud snort and proceed to bulldoze everything in front of him. It's pretty consistent, so if you find yourself getting bumped during his rage, expect a follow-up bulldoze. It's like his favorite move.

Welcome to the first 'wall' in monster hunter.

Like the other guy said, stay close to em'.
Also aim for his butt, throat and tail, and watch out when he starts sneezing little bursts of fire, that means he's about to use his breath attack
Its got a pretty long windup, but just pay extra close attention. Being far away from him usually leads to a very bad time unless you've got a nearby tree to dive behind
The fire breath attack can easily one shot you, even later on in the game with a full healthbar, so make sure to pay close attention to his animations.

You can do it!

Oh yea, that bulldoze thing ^^^

Thankfully he doesn't do it very often, but it really sucks when he knocks you down, then jumps on top of you to give you smooches.
