Just a quick question about effluvial and armor decorations.
I was fighting Hazak today, with both effluvial expert and effluvial buildup reducer (max level) but was taking both full effluvial buildup and also was taking full effluvial damage.

Hazak does do effluvial damage, right? I swear the same gear set before was giving me the full protection..

Also today I was having trouble with building resistance for armour, finding adding decoration and /or charms gave no added benefit. Again, using the same gear set as normal, I was hitting 29 protection vs the usual 35 and was unable to boost it.

Perhaps I'm missing something, as I am tired but I really can't see what's changed?

Effluvial Expert nullifies the environmental damage from the Rotten Vale. It doesn't affect Vaal's gas. As for Effluvial Resistance, it just prevents you from getting cursed (at 3 points, at 1/2 points it will just take longer to get cursed), aka your HP reduced in half.

Ok, thanks. I was cursed several times. Hmm.

Perhaps that was just from attacks that I failed to notice?

It doesnt nullifies it at all, it just slow it down

Iirc, the effluvia expert skill simply makes you immune to the mist that is naturally on the map. The effluvia that Vaal emits is not included in that immunity.

The effluvial resistance skill reduces/makes you immune to the effect of it halving your health.

I don't understand what you meant about hitting 29 or 35 protection.

It reduces buildup at 1/2 points and completely nullifies it at 3 points. Should have included that in my post.

The protection was a separate issue. I meant, for example, fire resistance 29 vs the 35.

As for the effluvial, I see what I did wrong - I was missing a miasma jewel as I must have missed a save and everything had reverted. EDIT: Yeah, I was only at 2/3. :L

Vs. Vaal, I generally slap on 3x Miasma gems, which prevents your HP from being reduced to 50%.
You still take the continous damage though.

Ah. I thought you were talking about resistances, but was thinking "there's no effluvial resistance (like the others)".

Yeah, there's been times where I missed a gem and left myself one point shy of immunity before. Finding that out mid-combat is never a pleasant experience.

Hehe sorry about that one guys.

And thanks Kvervandi, I had not realised you couldn't stop the continuous damage.

3x Miasma Gem + Rocksteady Mantle = Laught at Vaal's gas (just the big cloud that knocks you back remains a danger)

My man. :) Thanks for the suggestion! He is probably the easiest ED, in my opinion but it's be nice to have less frustrating fights, given I need so many gems, heh!
