Fist-based weapon class?

Every time they release a new MH I hope for my fists to be made into a class. We've got a bunch of swords w/ shields of varying sizes, a gun strapped to a stick, a stick strapped to a bug, various flip-phone style weapons and a few gun variants.

However, I want to uppercut a Rathalos into the ceiling of a cave or leap off a cliff and fist a pickle through the floor.

If they gave the fist class "parry/counter" capabilities like the Long Sword or armor like the Great Sword where you could just bat away an attack and counter punch for a KO or clash their attack with your own (like crashing your fist into the skull of a dive bombing Nergigante), man, talk about satisfying.

There is a Japan-only spin-off series called Monster Hunter Frontier that has a Tonfa weapon.

If you like punching monsters to death, get Toukiden. It's like a knockoff MH that Sony made after MH moved to Wii/3DS. You can use giant metal gauntlets to punch demons to a pulp. It may be a knockoff, but it still is fun. Just wait for a sale.

Cmon, his idea is terrible, srsly punching monsters ? That would ruin the game lmao, imagine if you enter the gathering hub and you see everyone with boxing gloves instead of big ass weapons... Go play streetfighter or whatever Nisshoku recommended you, but not this lol

Obviously, you never played Monster Hunter Frontier. That game has a fist based weapon class called Tonfas. Its a pretty fun weapon to use in Frontier. If they bring that weapon class to world with new animations and a movement system, I am sure it will do well in world without breaking game balance.

If they bring that weapon class to world with new animations and a movement system, I am sure it will do well in world without breaking game balance.

Its just some weird looking dual blades, but looks ok. Nothing looking like the op said too,

One: Tonfas aren't balanced worth a damn in frontier.

Two: Frontier content is staying in frontier. Players threw a ♥♥♥♥ fit over Hypnoc and Lavasioth being in non-frontier games. Capcom won't be doing that again.

Punching monsters ? Seriously ? Monster hunter is hunting monsters.. What you need is a brawler game where you beat people up on the street. Try GTA or something

I never said anything about Tonfa weapon balanced in fronteir. If you actually read what I said, I stated that it could be a a fine addition to world, if they reworked the moveset and balance it out. Like with all the other weapons...

You're probably right regarding that the Tonfas are going to stay in frontier because its not developed by the main monster hunter team. But it dosent mean they can at least modify the tonfas into something else.

Well Hypnoc and Lavasioth are some of the two most boring monsters that frontier had to offer. If given the choice, i would like to see laviente/glavenus/gammoth appear in the main monster hunter games. But hey, its just my opinion.

Maybe if there is no weapon equipped, you could punch monsters to death, it would be WAY harder, but you could get achievments or something

It always cracks me up when people play MH but deride LS for being too "anime." The entire game is about as "anime" as it gets with comically over sized weapons, characters, armor aesthetic, etc. Like whatever you want but don't be deluded.

As for Fist/Cestus like weapons I don't think they would be so out of place in MHW, heck the Nergigante DBs already look the part.
