Good for you. I honestly don't see the point in cheating to get an achievement. It's just so stupid.
The best thing to do is just forget the crowns and play the game. The problem is that it can take a very long time to just get one crown if you are really trying for it. However the events that mention music have a much higher chance of a crown. I completed my crowns collection for five monsters in a few days doing Wildspire Bolero. So right now you want to do the Effluvial Opera if you want any of the large or small crowns for any of those monsters.
Talking about the Effluvial, I just tried to get the smallest girros and got it in one attempt lol.
I used the Youtube videos for individual monsters. So I would get a load of quests, any rewards, and then just go again and again until I found the monster that was about the right size, ignoring monsters that were clearly average, then hunt it if it was about the right size. I mean I spent two solid weeks hunting Kirin. 50% of the time I didn't actually kill or capture it, just went with the gillie mantel to measure it.
I have 1 large crown to complete that achieve but I have 12 small to get for the other achieve. I WILL COMPLETE THEM!
Tobi incidentally I found to be very hard.
My issue is only slightly the measuring of the monsters. I do have a little difficulty determining what is slightly above average vs Gold Crown, but mainly my issue is with RNG. I'm only capable of running one quest at a time but if others were also running investigations like me looking for the same monsters, we would effectively be checking 2-4x faster and thus speeding up the process.
Did you notice at all if the mission rewards/criteria played a factor? Online guides suspect that if the rewards include at lease 1 gold and 1 silver reward the likelihood is higher, or if the number of faints is different than the standard 3 etc.
What is the point of the binoculars for example?
it had the potential to offer some extra info about the hunted monster.
They could also link the crown status to the tracks, because a huge monster makes bigger tracks.
tobi was my arch enemy and it was awful to measure its size with the help of youtube videos.
But a mod is not part of the game. I think it's fine to use any trick or trap that came with the game, but it's not fine to use anything that is a separate mod. If you want to that's fine, but I rest peacefully at night that I didn't cheat to get the achievements ( or at least I will when I get them, lol ).
Of that I am aware. I am trying to get this done very soon, and would prefer to not have to wait for those event to rotate back in.
because the metering of the monster is awful
Think about the scenario where you leave your mission, which had maybe a goldcrown monster to join the mission of someone else, who thought he had found a goldcrown monster, but ends with a normal one ...
This... This is why you should use the mod. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ large silver crowns... -_-
take the event quest that gives higher crown chances
you dont need to kill evry monster to get the crown. You can also join late and the monsters that are allredy dead still can give you a crown.
Black Diablos
you need investigations with some silver or better minimum 1 gold box
i got it in a 2 monster investigation after around 160 black diablos
good luck
