Controllers don't function too well
I've started using my ps4 controller on monster hunter world wireless and for some reason the controller seems to work fine with other games but when i play world with it my in-game character starts moving on their own, i can't move at all when i try to move and my character doesn't look at the direction i want to face and i've tried the gyro fix but not even that helped and i tried using a different configuration from the community and still doesn't work. i even tried with DS4Windows and also does the same as if connected to steam. Is there any way to fix this?

Ive been using a Xbox one controller and have it wired and works fine. Maybe try a wired USB connection? Or maybe the mouse is interfering.

Fraps will mess with controller support with this game. Don't know about other programs that might effect the controller.

I've been using a Switch Pro, havent had any issues

I have had the exact same issue on ps4 with a ps4 controller. Playing wired semi fixes it. Since ive made the switch to PC i have not encountered the issue again.

I had that issue. The controls were very unresponsive using my wireless xbox controller. As soon as I went wired, most of my troubles disappeared. (also didn't help I was on a wireless internet connection)

I've seen two common sources of controller problems for MHW

1) Steam Big Picture Mode
Monster Hunter World seems to want to launch in Steam Big Picture Mode if you allow it to do so, and it can sometimes cause weird issues with controllers.

Go into your Steam Settings > In-game > Uncheck "Use the Big Picture Overlay when blahblahblah", and see if this fixes the issue.

2) Steam Controller Configuration
I've seen people with controller problems say that configuring their controller in Steam fixes their issues. If number 1 doesn't work, you might wanna see if configuring your controller fixes the issue.

New gen Controllers are Garbage. I've wrecked maybe 5 Ps4 controllers in 1 year playing GTA 5, because of the materials it's made out of breaks easy.

I got a Xbone controller for my PC and the batteries die too fast, somethings wrong with the trigger or the design of the rumble making so when I squeeze it too hard I can feel the rumble directly into my finger as opposed to my hand where it supposed to go, and when I set it up for both Bluetooth and wired when I plug it in the controller hangs up on the left stick and won't listen to commands and my character keeps going left.

These controllers are cheaply made, I had a PS3 controller that I got with the Original system last it's entire life, If I was to buy another controller it would be a Xbox 360 controller.

The 360 controller is pretty solid, except for the directional pad. Trying to use the directional pad for anything will cause a tonne of misinputs due to its flawed design.

Also the connector wire is a weakpoint that will break before the controller itself.

Thus why the xbox one controller is an overall improvement. Not to mention it uses bluetooth so you don't need a stupid $50 dongle to use it wirelessly.

Played with MHW with PS4 controller with wired for awhile, it was never an issue besides a hardware defect my controller had (L2 is getting triggered even if I don't press it, I have to set the threshold for activation much higher than default). The XBOne controller also works fine wired
