i use the switch pro controller now and still no issue
1) Steam Big Picture Mode
Monster Hunter World seems to want to launch in Steam Big Picture Mode if you allow it to do so, and it can sometimes cause weird issues with controllers.
Go into your Steam Settings > In-game > Uncheck "Use the Big Picture Overlay when blahblahblah", and see if this fixes the issue.
2) Steam Controller Configuration
I've seen people with controller problems say that configuring their controller in Steam fixes their issues. If number 1 doesn't work, you might wanna see if configuring your controller fixes the issue.
I got a Xbone controller for my PC and the batteries die too fast, somethings wrong with the trigger or the design of the rumble making so when I squeeze it too hard I can feel the rumble directly into my finger as opposed to my hand where it supposed to go, and when I set it up for both Bluetooth and wired when I plug it in the controller hangs up on the left stick and won't listen to commands and my character keeps going left.
These controllers are cheaply made, I had a PS3 controller that I got with the Original system last it's entire life, If I was to buy another controller it would be a Xbox 360 controller.
The 360 controller is pretty solid, except for the directional pad. Trying to use the directional pad for anything will cause a tonne of misinputs due to its flawed design.
Also the connector wire is a weakpoint that will break before the controller itself.
