Fight tempered elder dragons or AT Kushala Daora. You need to be HR 50 minimum to do so.

You can get it among special rewards in Investigations (9*). More rewards, more monsters, the better.
But I must admit, getting shaft is painful... The game have been throwing items to augment lances/hummers at me all the time.

It's heavily RNG based. You could just get 20 HBG hero streamstones in a row instead or no weapon streamstones of any kind in 100s of runs. Just gotta keep grinding it out and pray to RNGesus you get what you want.

I have actually visited the link before but it was empty as it is now but thank you!

A lot of pages on that site haven't been edited with the info but you can generally find it in the comments.

Just keep doing tempered elder dragons, they have the best chance for streamstones. Which streamstone you get is rng though.
Farm tempered and AT elders. Nothing else you can do.

Yello!
I am playing Bow myself and one piece of advice i could give you is doing tempered Vaal Hazak and Kirin. They are easy to farm once you get used to the monster and come up with effective ways to kill them fast (5min to 10min max per run). The more Box-Rewards the better the chance.
Use vouchers and meal-vouchers ( eat the meal that gives you lucky-cat buff for a chance of increased rewards).
Just a heads up, i got more hammer/blade/sword streamstones than the Shaft-Streamstones.
Just stick with it and you'll get everything you desire. Prepare for a grind.
Try killing different tempered elders just to keep things fresh and less boring, they may aswell drop the Shaft-stones.
Hope this helps! Good luck and have fun!

Edit: edited the format for a little better readability.

While at the topic: Better catch or kill for farming Streamstones?
It's exactly the same, and you can't capture elders.

Cant catch elders is clear, but the tutorial said something about increased rewards for catching, guess that does not include the Streamstones, tyty for clarifying!

You can get Steamstones for catching, but it happens not often. Recently I got one for catching (I am not sure whether it was among the catching rewards or not,
though) Temp. Azure Rathalos. I believe a mission with three tempered monsters has higher chances for Steamstones to appear.
In short,
- tempered monster(s) - easy to catch but Steamstone drop rate is low
- AT Elders - harder to kill but Steamstone drop rate is high

This is what i gathered from the web.

Threat 1 / HR13+ : 55% Mysterious Feystone, 25% Gleaming Feystone, 15% Worn Feystone, 5% Warped Feystones

Threat 2 / HR30+ : 34% Gleaming Feystone, 35% Worn Feystone, 26% Warped Feystone, 3% Warrior Streamstone, 2% Hero Streamstones

Threat 3 / HR 50+ : 70% Worn Feystone, 13% Warped Feystone, 12% Warrior Streamstone, 5% Hero Streamstone

That's BS. Streamstones are investigation rewards, not bonus rewards. They appear in two totally different rows in your results screen.
Also the number of monsters doesn't matter at all. The chance depends exclusively on the tier of the monsters.
