Anjanath doesnt drop gem

only the high rank anjanath drops gems, make sure it's a high rank investigation before you do it (orange star instead of blue)

Run high rank investigations for it, and make the game believe you don't want the gem. If it knows you want it, it will keep it from you.

Stop wanting it and it will come. All you can really do is keep running high rank investigations. Part breaks also help but ultimately it still comes down to luck, which you seem to be in short supply of.

i would farm silver or gold rewards
silver rewards have 6% chance of drop and gold 13% chance of drop at end of the hunt
just farm and you will get it my dude ;3

I have 5 box tempered anja investigation if your down for it.
plus its a capture more bang for your bucks

1. invs with as many silver/gold rewards as you can
2. wear 3p Kirin
3. break head
4. cut and carve tail
5. capture

This is the best you can do to maximize your chances to get a gem.
Alternatively just pop a gold wyverian print at the melder.

The breaking of parts is mostly irrelevant. Find the best investigation with the most gold or silver rewards. The drop chance is 16% and 8% respectively. All the breaks are like 1-3% and i got both of mine recently from the investigation reward table.
