Downy Crake spawn: does the Ghillie mantle exploit still work?
So I'm trying to catch a downy crake for the quest, and a number of videos have shown that a way to get it easily is to just go to AF or WW, stand next to a group of herbivores, face away, making sure the camera doesn't have any of them on-screen, put on your ghillie mantle, and boom, you should hear cheeping in minutes. I've done all this, and crouched for good measure, and I've had no luck so far. Anyone know if this exploit still works, or have they patched it out?

Yes, it 100% works.

I got it within 30 seconds of walking slightly ahead of a pack of boys @ Wildspire. As long as the time of day is right, it's EXTREMELY easy to spawn them. I see them all the time during hunts.

"Wildspire, centre camp, run to the top right open area, gillie up, as you enter there's 3 Aptonoth walking towards you over the hill depending how fast you were. Turn your back to them and the birds will spawn chirping after 5 seconds. "

Literally exactly how I did it.

Dawn/morning is best. You can get them at night as well, so it may be Sunrise/Sunset.

last question, what platform are you on? I'm on PC, i'm not sure if that makes a difference.

PC. I've done it on PS4 as well, though.

PC Seemed easier but that may just be because of how fast everything loads.
