Let's break it down..


The Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Monster Hunter World run at a variable 864p/30fps and 1080p/30fps respectively with visuals akin to the framerate preference mode of the Playstation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.

The Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Monster Hunter World suffer from ridiculous load times, serious LOD pop-in. The base Xbox One version of Monster Hunter World both looks and performs objectively worse than the base PS4 version.

The Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of Monster Hunter World suffer from incredibly slow load times without an SSD, dropped connections on wireless, input lag and dropped inputs.

The Xbox One X and Playstation 4 Pro versions of Monster Hunter World run at 1728p and 1800p at a variable 30fps respectively.

The Xbox One X in Framerate or Graphics preferance mode runs at 1080p with a variable 60fps. Never quite reaching 60fps and quite frequently fluctuating between 30fps and 50fps depending on your chosen mode.

The Playstation 4 Pro in Framerate or Graphics preference mode runs at 1080 with a variable 45fps. Never quite reaching 45fps and quite frequently fluctuating between 30fps and 40fps depending on your chosen mode.

None of the versions have an option to lock the framerate.

None of the versions have an option to cap the framerate.

None of the versions have resolved serious frame time spikes.

All versions have a similar level of graphical fidelity with the main difference being resolution and level of detail.

All versions suffer from a stippling effect (e.g. lots of tiny dots used to reconstruct an image)

Lighting is harsh and colors often appear muted or washed out due to the Volumetric effect used.


For all intents and purposes, Monster Hunter World on console is a wildly inconsistent experience if what you're looking for is an optimized game with no problems. However, based on information that we have received from popular Monster Hunter YouTubers and Streamers:


Monster Hunter World on PC supports resolutions up to proper 4K.

Monster Hunter World on PC supports framerate locks at 30fps and 60fps.

Monster Hunter World on PC supports uncapped framerates for those with high end rigs.

Monster Hunter World on PC does not seem to have the frame timing issues that the console versions suffer from.

Monster Hunter World on PC can benefit from Gsync or Freesync.

Monster Hunter World on PC supports a variety of graphical options so that the end user can further optimize their experience beyond using generic low, medium, high or highest settings.

Monster Hunter World on PC, when run off of an SSD, loads in mere seconds.

Monster Hunter World natively supports both Dual Shock 4 and Xbox One gamepads and when played in Steam Big Picture Mode, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller as well.

Monster Hunter World has full Keyboard and Mouse support including key rebinding and shortcuts.

The one graphical feature that actively makes Monster Hunter World look worse and perform like crap on consoles can literally be disabled on PC, giving the end user a slight boost in visual fidelity while affording them a serious boost in performance (20+ fps in some instances)

Monster Hunter World on PC is getting Ultra HD Textures at some point in the future.

Monster Hunter World can further benefit from ReShade and maybe even ENB for further visual enhancements.



But let's crap all over Capcom because a GTX 1060 can't run the game at 1440p/120fps and high end rigs "struggle" at running the game at an incredibly consistent 140+ fps at 1080p or 75+ fps at 1440p using settings just below the available stated maximum.


Seriously, stop acting like a bunch of overgrown children. Compared to what the console players have to actually deal with, PC gamers are getting the far better deal.

I had no interested in 3 of the 4 games you mentioned. You don't have much of a point.

MHW will run at 60fps and 1080p on my rig. That makes me happy and is more important than any trolling you can come up with. (and you are a poor troll)

Ok, OP.

I give in. It is a technical lackluster port of a game that has its fair deal of technical inconsitencies on console already. Even if it is an ok port, it still does not blow me out of the water, technically.

"A far better deal" does not automatically mean that it is a great deal if the original has lots of issues, though ;)

And I always like those calm and objective guys who tell others to shut up because their opinion is worth more as they can pull some "facts" out of their sleeves ;)

As someone who grinned and beared it on a base PS4 with the stock 500GB 5400 RPM hard drive, I'm certain that around 20 hours of my near 400 hours of play time was just sitting at loading screens. In fact, I just bought some high speed 3D nand m.2 ssds to celebrate my purchase of Monster Hunter World on PC. :D
