Trying to make an immortal build

I want to make an immortal build for the 1 faint tempered investigations.

What weapon would work well with this? I'm thinking of trying lance/gun lance with it since I havn't used those yet. I'm not going to go afk and let the palico kill it like the video suggests since that will take too long, I will be hitting the monster.

What are the good/bad lance/gun lances? Is going for a really strong block like that too much over kill given the level of defensive skills? Would I be better off with a different weapon for a faster kill time given that I can rely on the other things to keep me alive?

Lance is the more defensive weapon by virtue of GL having long uncancelable combos.

Just get Jho GL or Taroth Crest Claw for sheer damage, or if you want more utility through para and sleep there are some lances that specialize in those
