Met some insect glaive players who only use their kinsect but not anything else

Not even attacking with melee, do aerial attacks, or slashing the monster when it's down. Is this some kind of trend that i never know about? In all honesty, i know kinsect deals like nice dmg if you upgrade it to max and use the advantages for certain buffs since IG is also one of my main weapons, but all of those fights felt so long since there is not enough dmg to the monster we hunt while the monster hp is already being scaled to 4 players, and that particular player just keep doing that instead helping with melee attacks which could deal more dmg than that.
For anyone wondering it's not a rant, but i am just half curious about it if you guys ever encounter same thing..

I had this very comfy meme build myself but with it I also ran max Wide-Range, max Speed Eating, and Free Meal Secret. Basically a support meme build that does decent chip damage.
The kinsect only build can do up to 85 per hit, given that you have an elemental boost glaive and the correct kinsect element with max elemental power. It also benefits from tenderizing.
I tested it once on a Velkhana investigation and cleared it in just under 16 minutes.

Notice I have a Water Glaive from HR in the above screenshot.
The reason you don't attack with your glaive with this build is because glaives with kinsect elemental boost does bad damage and it's better off to just do damage with your powered up kinsect.

I see thanks for sharing it, but do you think it's actually good idea to use it online with other people since the dmg isn't as big as the normal melee atk? Because this is what i experienced with those people..

I don't care what dmg you're doing on non DPS check fights, as long as you aren't carting, you're doing fine and I couldn't care less, I'm using CB, so I'll DPS carry you anyway.

I ran this set in multiplayer for a while and I never got complaints.
But my build was tanky + support and I was very aggressive, and I flinch shot every chance I get.
I also cleared Extreme Behemoth with this meme build with a party of 3.
I guess it's all subjective or case by case basis, depends on the player.
HOW-EVER, I already stopped running this build because my forefinger hurt after a while from rapidly left-clicking with the kinsect attack (for reals) and since I made some proper end-game builds.

Yeah the problem is i used Gunlance build with the other players using bow back then, so while we are not really having low damage it's still lacking the push, but yeah no one carted back then, it's just the hunt took longer time than usual.

That actually depends on the player, using IG on some various monsters especially flying monsters like Velkhana, Silver Rathalos, or Legiana is actually make the hunt easier and faster if you know how to use it correctly.
I personally even can finish most of those hunts with less than 10 minutes by using that weapon, as long the hunt is done and nobody carted, i welcome anyone if they want to join my hunt.

You are outdated, IG is lowest dps only in MHW base game.

People are irritated by IG in Iceborne because their other weapons dps is lesser than IG mastered players.

And of course you are using HBG, anything is easier with that weapon which is why i never spoil myself by keep using it, there is no need to underlook other weapons when you use perhaps the easiest weapon in the game to master
