It now either only logs my play time and achievements on a MASSIVE, days to weeks long delay..
or, more commonly..
Fails to log them period, ever, either that or the delay is months long.
I have tried everything to fix it, one of my friends has it too, it seems once it starts.. it's there. It has nothing to do with online/offline mode of play or any of that, this 'bug'. I've tried to completely reinstall Steam, no dice. It seems to be on the account level, as when I log in on the same PC with another account, no issue and vice-versa.
yep, i suspect this is part of the disconnecting session problem that is plaguing mhw co-op session right now.
Steam should still be logging your hours, though. Steam only stops unless it bugs out like mine or you go into offline mode via Steam. Going offline in a game should have no effect. Plenty of people, including myself as of yesterday due to Thunder users ruining my life, are refusing to use the online period and those without bugged accounts aren't experiencing this to my knowledge.
Sounds like you're on the legacy Steam API, this is being pushed as a snake oil / placebo online issues fix atm, so if you did that fix it might be why.
Just saying.
Your situation is entirely, well, situational not to mention anecdotal. You're also mentioning variables that don't make a lick of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difference, like where the VPN server is located. People see me playing monster hunter with or without my VPN tunneled, regardless of what region I tunnel into. Most people don't use VPN's, and I can still see everyone on my list playing the game when they're on.
VPN's have NOTHING to do with the issue, one way or another. That is my main point. My other point is trying to push people into using free VPN's is sketchy as hell and can get them into a situation where their traffic is being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
You're a moron.
