How to use voice chat

Its always enabled.. >< Always. So be mindful if you have a cold, or some annoying fan.. A mom or roomate who is noisy. People will hear everything all the time.
:edit, less your mic have a mute button for itself. Then you can sue that to mute yourself.

Sadly, I ran into one of those.. It wasn't fun.

If you have voice chat off, is your mic automatically muted? Or is it set so you just can't hear others?

there is only an option to on/off it. But how are you guys even able to use it, the input/output volume is so low that it's not even worth using imo, and there is no advance options to tweak it

If you have it off, your mic is muted and I think you mute everyone else. The last part I am uncertain as I just have a button on my mic to mute it.. Sorry. ><
:Edit, I think the volume is case by case. Some people are very loud and others not so much.

Trust me, you don't want to hear 350 lbs. randos eating chips directly into the mic. Disable in-game voice and join a Discord server. Better voice controls that way, anyway.

It's a shame games barely ever give proper voice options for PC games these days.

I had to go through the audio settings and turn SFX/Music down to about 70% to hear voice clearly.

What do you guys mean?? I never could hear anyone or never could talk, Do I need a headset for that, not my laptop's mic?

Thread necro'd!

Anyway, it depends on how your laptop is setup but when this topic was originally started voice chat was always on. Currently you can go into settings and change it from always on to off or even to push-to-talk. But back to your question about your laptop's microphone you'll have to see if it's enabled. Without knowing your operating system a safe bet would be to go to your sound options and see if it's enabled. If all else fails then can a cheap headset, plug it in, and use that since it should be plug and play for the most part.

Because there is no point for them, there is discord, teamspeak, mumble steam build in voicechat etc.
