Bow's rely on elemental damage/crit so the best choice is to have multiple bows.
Legiana for Ice, Anja for Fire, Tobi Kadachi for Electric etc.
The only exception would be a Crit-Draw Dragonpierce build. You want to use the Diablos Bow on that.
But yeah, it depends on what perks you want
This, also Tobi Kadachi is only the best Electric bow in the base game, late we will have taro weapons, but those need skills to unlock element.
High Rank Monsters rekt me, and if you're fighting a Pukei Pukei, you can beat it to death with a dull club and kill it. An Odogaron on the other hand, will make sweet love to you if you ever try to stand still (not to mention the ton of adds usually around it that will love to interrupt it).
Don't get me wrong, I call it God-Slayer for a reason, when properly used it is outrageously powerful, but still more like a double-edged sword.
Best suggestion if you intend to use it like that, is to carry multiple traps, and use them to guarantee your devastating attacks, and simply refreshing your traps by heading back to a camp after the monster switches zones. And don't bother to bring it in areas in which you know you won't be able to get it off in (i.e. Rotten Vale in any area with Bugs, Freaky Lizards, or Flappities).
