Which bow? If it's a heavy bowgun, you can use the reload key in midair to hit creatures with a melee attack while jumping off a ledge. It seems it is also the R key with a regular bow.

just do it like close range weapon,
find a cliff, or slide down and press dodge button will perform a jump.
then press attack (Reload key?)
it will just look ridiclous when you do the finishing move.

if you also do a dodge towards a tree or cliff side, at least i think its a dodge you will do a springboard attack where you bounce of said thing then gain air. other then that the only other way is as dragon and Etto said

Theres also an air attack on demand. Activate the reticle, press dodge for a dodge and charge action and the forward + triangle/Y

beware tho, its slow and it leaves you very open.
